My girlfriend was arrested and put in the county jail. She's not eligible for bail and because of the charges will be in jail for a minimum of a couple weeks during the court process.

My questions are, can county jail inmates use their personal cell phones that they took with them at the time of the arrest?
Do county jail inmates have access to email?

No inmate can have a cell phone.

The only way the inmate can contact you is by calling collect, or now they have calling cards the inmates can purchase through the jail.

Inmates do not have access to email, there are alot of prisions going to email, but I have never heard of county jail having access to email.

Most do not have access to cell phones. Those that do allow after booking only, and that is very few. Most are collect calls only but some, a few use calling cards. No e-mail. They can use snail mail, but it is limited.

All of these may be limited depending on the policies of the that Sheriff's office.

It's jail, not the Country Club. The property on/with an inmate is put into storage and returned after their release. And another no for email, again, it is jail, not time for catching up on social contacts........it is PUNISHMENT!!!

If you want to see her and you are not her victim (since you are the same lady who asked about this earlier today) then you can ask to go see her on visiting days, but again, if you are her victim, they generally won't allow you to see her.

Sorry but no, she can not have uses of her cell phone. There is no e-mail access she can call you collect... Also depending where she is if you can not get collect calls to your house she might be able to get a per-paid phone card in there. Or you can put the per-pay on your cell or house phone...
