I have 4 cats living with me now:
Bonnie, 16 yo tuxedo. Adopted from animal shelter. She is a petite little kitty, but huge on personality! She was dx in October with hyperthyroidism. We started her on meds, her retest last week showed we are doing good and only needed a slight adjustment in the dosage. She is a friendly, playful kitty who is converting my not-so-kitty-friendly husband. She follows him around and sleeps with him at night while I'm working!
Kelley, 14, van patterned calico DLH. Adopted from animal shelter. She is my diabetic kitty dx in 2002. For the time being she is keeping her BG in check with diet. She is not the friendliest kitty..my baby only..everyone else gets a good 'hissing'! She sleeps snuggled in my arms or on the pillow next to me and has to be touching me some way. Her meow sounds like she is saying, "ma ma", when she is really looking for me it is "maa maaaa".
Lily, about 10 yo all black DLH. She was adopted by a friend's daughter. Daughter went off to college and friend's allergies prevented caring for her properly. She joined my gang in 2000. She is sweet and dainty but shy little girl. She spooks easily around my hubby and stepson. Since she was an adult when she was adopted we don't know what kind of kittenhood she had. She sleeps curled next to me. During the day, she loves to sit by one of the windows were she can watch the birds at the feeder and chatters away at them.
Holstein, 7 yo, white with black spots DSH. He was rescued by my sis-in-law at the softball field in 2000 where he'd been abandoned. He was way to friendly to have been a feral kitten. He is extremely affectionate and loves to snuggle anytime I am sitting. If he is not on my lap he is right next to me. I will never understand abandoning a kitten to fend for itself and I wonder many times when Holstein and I are snuggling if the previous owner cares what happened to him. Holstein loved and protected my oldest kitty when she was fighting chronic renal failure. She crossed the bridge the end of July and I believe he is just starting to get over her. He doesn't fuss at me so much and his pitiful meows are getting less. Holstein sits in the window where he can see the driveway and watches for me to come in from work. He also loves to sit by one of the windows where he can watch the birds at the feeder.
Gone to the bridge:
Maybelle, 7-30-2007, CRF. She was 17 yo, gray and white DSH. She had a patch of white on her chest in the shape of a heart, and that is just what she was..a sweetheart.
Hershey, 4-01-2003, complications from FIV. He was an adult stray that found me. He lived a pampered life for a little over 2 years. He had markings like a Himalayan and got his name because of his chocolate points, sweet personality and soothing purr.
Prissy, 3-05-1998, complications from seizures. She was a 7 yo DSH brown tabby with the most incredible sea green eyes. She was very sweet, but always very sickly, especially after the seizures started.
Purrs to you and yours. Thanks for the opportunity to tell you about mine.

I have 3 cats!
1. A DSH 15 year old orange tabby which I got from an ad in the paper when he was just a baby.
2. A DSH siamese-calico dil, she'll be 2 years old in December. I adopted her at the humane society when she was 6 months old. She has FHV.
3. A DSH calico dil. I really don't know how old she is. I adopted her also at the humane society in July, 2007. They told me she was 1 year and 2 months old but I think she is about 3 or 4 years old.
Love them all very much!

I have 8 right now.
Spunky is my 7 yrs old male. We found him (and his sister, she died) frozen. Since there was no mama cat, I bottle feed him. Spaz is a 5 yrs old male. He was a feral cat that we caught when he was 5 months old. Orange Kitty (OK) is a rescue cat. He was a feral cat that got hit by a car. The vet thinks that he is about 5-6 yrs old. It was kind of hard to tell seeing he lost almost all of his teeth (6 left) and had to have over 30 stitches to put his face back together.
BK (yes, for black kitty) was a stray that just showed up one day. She is about 2 yrs old. After a year of being wild, she has a litter of kittens in the garage. We caught her and were going to foster the kittens till they were 8 weeks...well, we became attached to the kittens, so now we have them. They were born 8/19/07, Bully (m), Bear (m) and Little Boy and Little Girl.
They all get along, it is a lot of work, 9 cat boxes, 4 sets of dishes...BUT A LOT OF LOVE AND FUN!

I have one cat at home, and four at my mum's house. We've had seven family cats over the years and I've had two of my own. Two disappeared (they were indoor-outdoor cats, and just never came home one day), one was hit by a car and other died as a result of terminal illness. The rest are still with us.
Our first cat belonged to our elderly neighbour. When she died, the cat just came over to our house and never left.
The next two were from a feral litter that was born under a neighbour's porch. We managed to find homes for the mother and the rest of the kittens, but no one wanted those two, so when it started to get cold we moved them into the house and they stayed.
Number four was a tiny stray kitten who wandered into the yard at a friend's bbq - we couldn't resist her so she came home with us.
Five and six were a mother and a single kitten. She sneaked into our house and had her baby behind a shelf. My dad discovered the kitten when he went to plug something in behind the shelf. They were put outside but stayed in the yard and they grew on us.
Seven was a kitten that the neighbour's daughter brought over to her house. She was being ignored and some how ended up in our apple tree. The daughter decided she didn't really want her, so we kept her, though it was a tough decision, since she created a lot of stress for the other cats.
Number eight was a stray that was hanging around my mother's house. Since she couldn't accommodate any more cats (I think we had five at the time) he came with me. The poor boy ended up dying from some extremely rare disease. I'm incredibly thankful that he didn't spread it to the other cats, since it was uncommon enough that it is not vaccinated or tested for routinely.
Nine is a brand new arrival. I got her at the Humane Society after volunteering as a cat socializer and getting to know her. Between our bonding and the fact that she has some small birth defects, making her less adoptable, I just had to take her home.

I have 6.
3, of them are litter mates that I bottle raised from 1 week old.
Tiger, Snookems, & Scooter
There were 5 of them but we found a great home for two of them. The other 3 we never could find good enough homes for.
They were rescued from a very mean person that was going to destroy them....
1, (Gilbert) was a kitten found in the middle of a four lane highway that we almost ran over.
1, (Merle) was an abandoned cat that neighbors left behind when they moved away.
1, I got from my mom (Taz) 13 years ago, when her kitten got pregnant because her vet said she was too young to spay....he was wrong by the way.
The kitten (my moms cat) was a stray that she took in.

I got 1 cat at the SPCA when she was about 6 months old. We got her because every fall, the mice come into the house. She kept the rodent population under control. She died 2 years ago of old age at 21. I also got a beautiful siamese from a friend when they moved in 2001 and didn't want her anymore. She is now 17.

I think cat lovers are unsocial people, maybe that is why you got a violation. They don't have a sense of humor and say dog lovers hate cats for stupid reasons. they get too butthurt about the simplest things a person says about their precious cats.

We're owned by 4 cats, which seems to be the 'purrfect' number for our multi-species family. 3 of them--ages 9 months, 5 yrs & 10 yrs, are from various rescues & the 4th, age 9, was from a small pet-shop that was finding homes for someone's 'accidental' kittens.
Last spring we lost our beautiful tortie girl, who was 16 yrs old. I found her hiding in the bushes when she was a tiny, starving kitten-- poor kitty was so thin that I didn't think she was going to survive, but she grew up plump & happy.

I have two feline friends. My first, Maggie, ended up my life because I was initially fostering her. When it became clear that she belonged here I officially adopted her. My second, Jonas, was brought to the clinic I work at to be possibly destroyed. He has balance issues, called Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia, basically meaning that the part of his brain responsible for motor functions didn't form properly. He was a sweet cat and I didn't feel he should die just because he walks funny and falls over alot. So that's how I ended up with two of the best cats ever :)
