A lot of people say that catholics are not christian, yet they count our 1.2 billion in the christian population. That makes no sense to me at all! Why count us if we are not christians (same for mormons and JW'S)?

Base on the Bible and the Bible alone, catholics', mormons' nor JW can be considered Christians. Along with members of the eastern star, "free"masons and one or two others.

I have yet to see realchurchhistorian mislead anyone with the Bible so far.

From a worldly view, since the world doesn't seem to know the real differeneces between catholics and Baptist, it will always take at face value that both are Christian. Only people from the inside seem to know the difference between Christianity and religion. That's why the world views voodoo and Christianity as one in the same. Meaning they just sum it all up and just call all of it religion.

Christians cannot worship idols. After the first and second admonition or rebuke reject them as heretics.

The Catholics have been admonished over and over for their pagan practicies throught history. Their typical response has been with the fire and the sword.

Thankfully on Yahoo R & S all they can do is report us when they are offended, lie a lot about history, or repeat it because that is what their Catholic Only sources tell them.

Catholic History is an ABRIDGED HISTORY. That means they have done heavy editing. In the 14th century they came up with a name for it: Propaganda. (this is really true)

So when one begins reading unabridged histories from various sources: Protestants, non-protestant non-catholics, Atheists, Orthodox and Muslim, the true picture of the Catholic church as a perverted monster comes into view.

But as they say, he who wins the wars writes the histories. Catholics dominate Europe with the Crusades and their War Machine. So that is one reason they are counted as Christians, it is their viewpoint.

The other reason, is the old trick of "people can be born Catholic".

Jesus said that the Physical birth is not enough to get into heaven. The second birth (Spiritual) is not of water (John 3). So it cannot be the baptism of infants. So according to the Bible the Catholic children who are baptized are just wet sinners on their way to Hell unless they repent of their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The people counting Christians for some kind of religion census are not the same as those fundies who say Catholics aren't "true Christians."

The best book that supports the Bible is, well... the Bible (according to most Christians). The best book that "goes against" the bible? There are many good ones out there, but you might as well start off with one of the more recent favorites; "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.

i suppose it's like when the southern planters didn't consider slaves as people...until the constitution required a house based on population, then they were all for counting slaves.

it was called the 3/5 compromise

hypocritial traits sinks in ..... when the statistic count is required, catholics became part of their religion because catholics accounts for more then 50% of all the christians combined.

Separated, each will have less then 10% of the total count.

Sarah, did you say "true story" ...... did your god teach you to lie?

LOL, Sarah, you can't call a makeup story as 'true story' and expect people to believe it is really a true story.

you can't stick to your lies and expect it to become truth.

well the scriptures said..to be BORN AGAIN.
and well..acts 1 and 2 reveal the speaking in tongues is a sign of born again.
WELL..i think it very possible 2 stages..of born again.
baptized by water
and baptized by spirit.
our heart/core being is our spirit man.
speaking in tongues is more SECURED of where you are going..
and surely you've seen folks haivng piety self righteous.
give them the right to go to heaven...duh..NO.
righteousness is a GIFT..not something to work for.
anybody who believe in the name of JESUS the son of GOD
got saved.
next level up is..acts of apostles about being
baptized by holy spirit and FIRE.
right there speak of two.
i think i got the fire.
and catholic, might got holy spirit?.and don't know him.
which explain in 1cor 12 of signs and wonders
which include speaking in tongues..interpret tongues
laying of hands..miracles..on and on..are all available to YOU.
john 16:15 SAID.YOU DID NOT PICK ME..I PICK YOU
AND ORDAINED YOU.
so you see..you are ordained wihtout man's schooling.
cause the holy spirit is your teacher.as 1,2,3 JOHN said.
there is 250 MILIONS NOW..catholics are speaking in tongues outside of USA...why not here? because of PIETY teaching here and religiousness teaching here..is what STOP the power of GOD in their churches..which 1cor 4:20 said by paul the kingdom of GOD is not just WORDS but POWER
and in peter? somebody said of it..tradition of MEN..who appeared GODLY but deny the POWER of GOD..we must depart from them.

COME UP HIGHER child of GOD.
GOD need worker who work by FAITH..vs work by WORKS
faith is beleving word for word of what HE SAID.
HE said in luke 10:17-19 behold I GIVE YOU POWER! to cast out demons..ect. faith means..IN GOD I TRUST.
what HE SAID..therefore that is TRUTH..don't care what churc said..healing still works..casting out demons still work..speaking in tongues sitll works..and greater works shall we DO..for HE HAS GONE TO THE FATHER..john 14:12.
