My guess would be because some people do not understand the concept of "picking and choosing" and the number of thumbs down I get for this will prove that.

Let's try this approach:
L.C. gave the stock answer which is "see it's not just in the Old Testament, it's right here in Romans, see!" If he would bother to read the whole passage, he might see that just 5 verses later it says:
"So no matter who you are, if you pass judgment you have no excuse. It is yourself that you condemn when you judge others, since you behave in the same way as those you are condemning." (Rom 2:1)
[Paul's condemnation is not of homosexuality, first of all, but of the rejecting of the Divine Order, if you read the context. There are all kinds of consequences which Paul lists, most of which Christians consider to be "sins" in and of themselves, because they're not understanding the point.]
Then notice that the second part of your question gets largely ignored. There are positive and negative reasons for this. I think the negative reasons are pretty obvious. So I'll tell you that I think the positive reason is that Christians have become familiar with Divorce. No Christian applauds the idea of Divorce, in general. But we all have friends and family members who have gone through it, if not ourselves. We see the consequences of it and we hate the fact of Divorce, but we're able to not judge people because of it. (This wasn't the case a few decades ago; people were frequently ostracized from church congregations after going through a divorce). Many Christians have managed to keep themselves comfortably isolated from homosexuality, and so they judge others because they have no personal experience to deter them. That's my opinion.
Peace to you.

I follow Jesus' teachings concerning divorce. The Bible defines sexual immorality and it includes alot more than just homosexuality. That said, homsexuality is included as is my own marital situation that prevents a heterosexual man like myself from marrying again or having sex of any kind.
I'm actually separated from a wife that I'm 99 percent sure is bi-sexual. Though she dropped plenty of hints, she would never make a clear declaration because of her situation so either we reconcile or I remain single. I saw enough to be pretty certain who her girlfriend is. It was her decision for us to separate. I think it was because I don't agree with engaging in sex with two women at the same time.
Forgiveness and reconciliation are there if she decides that is what she wants. All it takes is confession and repentance and we can move forward. One thing is certain, until she either comes out or decides it was just a phase, she and I are better off apart from each other and I am required by the Gospel to remain faithful to this present state of celibacy.
I don't hate you for being gay. Don't hate me for being faithful to Jesus' teachings concerning my situation and yours.

A TRUE believer does not reject ANYTHING Jesus commands. The Bible makes it clear what a disciple should do. On the other hand, you have many churches today that are not training disciples, although thay may be filled with SOME believers.
Also, a TRUE believer does not hate anyone. Jesus forbids it.
God does not hate gays. He hates sin and perversion of nature

It is unknown how YOU seem to know what Christianity embraces and rejects.
Even a poll would be inconclusive unless each person polled was somehow verified a Christian.
Get real !!!
Psa 97:10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
HATE EVIL
By the way God divorced Israel.
Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

It doesn't........ Your information is convoluted to say the least. We embrace the hatred of both the act of homosexuality and divorce just the same as Jesus did.

We don't hate gay people, we hate gay sex, which is a different matter completely. And, as a matter of fact, we do hate divorce. But on the other hand, we're told to love all people and try to heal their hurts if we can. You don't comfort people by hitting them over the head with a hammer of condemnation. You forgive, and try to help them sin no more.

Direct from the New testament: Romans 1:26-27
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Most Christians that I've run into tend to follow the theologians' idea of what Christianity should be and how they should live their lives, not Jesus'.

I think that God hates gay sex and divorce both because they harm the people involved. (Gay sex by tearing tissue and confusing minds and divorce by breaking hearts and confusing minds)
True Christians will hate things that harm people and drive a wedge between them and God. Both gay sex and divorce should be condemned.
