My girlfriend just told me that her mom told her that she thinks i am very immature.She thinks that cause of how i act with her 5 year old little sister. I play with her sometimes. She also thinks that because my girlfriend is 2 years younger than i am. Her mom also said that i dont do my part in the relationship. When i think that i do. It made me think that i really am immature. My girlfriend doesnt think so, and i have never been seriously told im immature. I dont really have a lot of friends though. Could that be why? Cause im immature? If im going out with someone 2 years younger than me, because im immature... i dont see what is wrong with that. I think it's fine. She is an amazing person that can make anyone happy, not just me. I can act "silly" around people. But i do it to be friendly. How do i be more mature then? What is my part in the relationship then? I want to feel better, thinking about it is just putting me down.

My mom has always said that we are not a gold coin, therefore not everyone is going to like us or think that we are awsome/great or in your case mature. Unfortunately, i think that we are all immature when it comes to certain issues and certain areas of our lifes. The only we can gain maturity is by going through situations and living life. I think that the opinion that should matter the most to you is your gf's opinion not her mom. Even though you should CONSIDER her mom's opinion you shouldn't let it get you down or make you feel bad. Dating someone younger than you is not something immature or at least that's what i think. Your girlfriend clearly doesn't think that you are immature she loves you just the way you are and that should be enough for you and her, so keep loving her and keep being the way you are, that's what makes you unique :). How old are you? Update: There's nothing wrong with a 17 year old acting silly and even if you are what would be considered immature...so what? You're allowed to be at that age. So don't stress about it.

Don't stress. At 17 even if you are immature you have time to catch up.
However, the fact that you care so much makes me think you are at least a little responsible, which is the opposite of immature.

Dating someone younger than you doesn't make you immature. Neither does playing with her kid sister. The kid is 5 so yes you have to 'dumby down' so you can play on her level.
