As the President is demonstrating - force is not necessary.
The current policy of economic and diplomatic isolation of Iran has weakened the Iranian government's support base and has weakened the position of the hard-liners.
Of course - the big question is: would a Democratic president be patient enough to continue this policy? Or will they follow a policy designed to boost their popularity ratings?

No. Don't you think the brave politicians have caused enough bloodshed? I don't see any of them up the sharp end with a rifle do you? The only beneficiary of the war with Irak was Israel, and they would be the only winner in a war with Iran. How many more wars do you want? We are still stuck in Afghanistan, remember? Nobody has ever conquered Afghanistan, and nobody ever will, for every man there has a rifle and knows how to use it, and they don't want any forigners invading their country. Blood feuds are a way of life there, so they know how to shoot and run. Irak is a shambles,it will be years before somebody like Saddam rises to the top again and siezes control, and that is the only kind of government that works out there. Meanwhile our youing men are getting killed every day and no end in sight. The Turks are getting fed up with the Iraki Kurds causing trouble in their country, and are threatening to cross the border and sort them out. This is what we said Hussain was doing and was one reason for the war, apart that is for the phantom rocket bombs and nukes threatening Israel. Incidentaly, why should Israels troubles bother us? It is only another Middle Eastern country after all, why are they so special?

Lemme guess your gonna vote for Hillary aren't you?
Eventually I say yes. We will. They have too many extremist elements in that government to not do so. Sooner or later its going to have to be dealt with.
And NOW would be a good time to do it !! We got them boxed in. Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan have them surrounded. We could launch missiles from the naval ships in the Persian gulf that are right now protecting the water ways in that region as well. We could also launch B-52 and B2 strikes from Diego Garcia. So yeah we should have done it already. They want nothing more than to completely remove this country from the face of the earth and a few others.
So why shouldn't we do it?

No; but some of Iran's cocky language.... suggesting the West treats them badly cause we are nuclear and they aren't - and saying they deserve nuclear parity so Iran can project it's own equal status in the world.... is frightening.
First chance they get they will be playing blunt and crude nuclear diplomacy... leaving us open to their Islamic bullying.

Yes, straight away before they blow us up! This may be threatning to you old people but the next generation of polticians like me think that if there a cituation with a country not to take no messing nd to go straight to war with a serious problem like this one. I don t think nukes should be used unless the country has threatend to Nuke your country, then yes straight away

No, Iran is a large, populous and diverse country and must be given diplomatic say in what goes on in that region. Only the neocons and Israel want to cut them out, and it will not work.

Maybe not but it does not sound like Iran intends to end its program so I do not hold out much hope.

it has been proven time and time again that you cannot reason with Islam unless you are part of it. the fact is 2/3ds of the world are in danger of Islams brutal ideology. if Islam acquires a nuclear capability. they will turn it on the west who they regard as they're enemy. and it has to be addressed sooner or later. ( preferably BEFORE we hear the bang would be good)

well Iran is much like youranus so sometimes exerting pressure can be a good thing especially when you want to be rid of the bad element that's causing the clogging.
