For example, when the turkey for Thanksgiving is done before all else and I gotta cut it up and get it outta the oven, is there an appliance or something I can keep it in?

Turkey should be allowed to rest after being roasted.
Don't start slicing for 10-15 minutes at least, for juices to set.
You can cover with heavy foil & layers of towel to keep warm.
If it's all sliced & placed on a platter, you can do the same.
There are warming trays to keep veggies hot for serving.
Restaurants use steam tables, you can make a double-boiler.
Put container of food in large pot of simmering water.
Serving counters also use heat lamps to keep food warm.

Turkey needs to rest before you carve it anyway. Typically, you would tent it with aluminum foil while it rests. Finish the other dishes while the Turkey rests.

Other things can be kept warm by placing in a pan or bowl set over hot water or covered and placed in a very low (150 degrees F.) for a short time.

Turkey's need about 1/2hr. - 1 hour of rest before carving.. So, you can cover loosely with aluminum foil AND cover with a bath towel to keep turkey moist.. It will continue to carryover cook for about 10 minutes or so anyway.... Then you'll have time to finish cooking/heating any side dishes.... Good luck

What I do, is I let the turkey sit for about 20 minutes or so on a slant....to let all the pan juices run to one side....within those minutes of letting it rest and then carving the turkey, everyone else is pretty much ready!

I'm one of the millions of people that will take something hot out of the oven and then put it in the microwave and close the door to the micro. I have no idea if this works but I know almost everyone does it!
