i have a 2007 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins Diesel. Today my information display showed "Catalyst stat 96%" then it increased to 97%, 98% and on up to 100%. The truck still has full power, and is running fine. What does this mean?

your particulate filter on your exhaust is at its max capacity and needs to be regenerated. all 2007.5 and later diesels sold in the u.s. have to have filters on the exhaust. see your dealer. they have to put it in mobile desoot mode with the scanner and drive it for about an hour. when in desoot mode, the controller fires the injectors with the exhaust valves open to light the catalytic convertor off hotter, and the fire goes into the particulate filter and burns out the soot. exhaust temps will be in the 1200-1300 degree range. i have to do one of these about once a week. it takes between 50 and 60 miles to complete.

A new truck with no owners manual ?? You better get to the dealer and get a book. You are under warranty
