My dad shoots a 336. I've watched him take 3 or 4 over the years at an estimated 200 yards. Two of those deer were shot back to back and we paced that off at 220ish.
But we're talking about really maxing that thing out.

It definatly goes past 150 yards.
You're only limited to the trajectory and it's best not to put the crosshairs over the deer.

in a model 94 lever action rifle I would say abulot 150 yards. These are not ment to be long range shooters.

Well the ranger was the "no frills" version of the 94 they should be identical in performance. If you are a real good shot, 150 yards should be the max for hunting.

Look into the ballistics for Horndary's new Lever-evolution rounds in 30-30, they went to a pointed polymer tip and improved the performance out to 250 yards......only trouble would be to get optics for shooting that far ..... you may need to upgrade your scope.....

The one you can make and still make a clean kill or keep a reasonable accuracy on a target. For some it will be much shorter than others.

It all depends who is shooting it.* Its the shooter not the gun.*
