Practice doesnt make perfect. A better saying is perfect practice makes perfect. If one doesnt practice the right way, one wont get better. The full true is that a person can't be perfect regardless of how much they practice. You can always get better in some way either quality or quantity wise. When people say "practice makes perfect" they are basically meaning that through practice a person can reach their full potential.... whatever that potential is. Different people have different abilities and potential.

There is a book by Dr. Bob Rotella titled Golf is Not a Game of Perfect. It's true in any sport that at some point there will be a mess up and you'll have to try something new to fix it- either form or attitude. Practice makes better, not perfect. Whoever wrote that quote had his head in the clouds.

Practice makes your memory and mind retain the actions. If you practice (correctly) over and over you should be able to repeat these motions under pressure conditions. Don't forget to practice the weird stuff too - left handed, on your knees, ball above your feet, ball below your feet, keep it low, hit it high, hit a 5 iron 100 yards, etc. You often have shots where the conditions are not perfect.
Good luck.

"Practice makes perfect" is simply an expression that people use to deny their humanity. It makes them feel like their impairments would totally vanish if they practice intensely. Wrong! The expression should say, "Practice makes professionals." We can only be "perfect" by not needing "practice" in the first place!

Repetitive practice trains the muscles and nerves to recognize and repeat the motion. This results in consistent results, allowing you to know which club and strike works in each situation.
Practice rounds train you to think as you play, offering the differing circumstances you will come acoss.

You are being facetious. Golf is a technical sport. The motions are repetitive so to do something repetitive you have to practice. Practice makes you better if you practice properly.

It's just an old saying. I like "practice makes permanent'. Repeat something often enough and it becomes repeatable.

It doesn't.
"Active practice" where you use feedback to assess how well you are doing, and then adjust accordingly - that makes perfect.
