i sent this guy i love a message saying we should stop talking because hes leaving in 2 months...and it would hurt us both so we should start saying buh bye now instead of the last minute
my message was:
i REALLY HATE saying this but its for OUR best and so we don't get hurt...i don't think we should talk as much and we shouldn't act like were going out...i have tears in my eyes rite now writing u this message but its for out own good and so no one gets hurt..this is my opinion but i don't know about yours....i just don't want neither one of us to get hurt after 2 months...and I'm SO SORRY that i made your biggest fear come true...I'm really sorry and i know its hard for u but its harder for me since I'm writing it....I'M SO SORRY

did i do the right thing?? or am i wrong and should i still continue talking to him and flirt like we used to??
all answers appreciated:)

I'm not sure. To me it seems like you've decided you don't want to feel pain (2) months from now so you've opted to go ahead and hurt yourself now. Okay, I sort of understand your logic, but since you're already hurting now, how do you know you won't still be hurting (2) months from now? If you were attempting to quit smoking (or something equally distasteful) I would say yeah, the sooner you bite the bullet, the easier the transition will be for you. And terminating your association with this guy may indeed be better for you now as opposed to later...only you can truly assess that. But it's also possible that you'll be cheating yourselves out of precious time you could be spending together; experiences for their own sake that are worth the risk of eventual heartache when they're gone. I mean, you wouldn't very well go ahead and die now to avoid a painful death later on, would you?
Just the mere fact that you asked this question means you're not totally at peace with your decision. Perhaps there's a reason for that. There is wisdom to milking every ounce of life you can get out of an experience...maybe this is just such an occasion. Good luck as you make this decision.
