Why ask a question, and then reject a common belief? I do believe that we will either go to heaven or hell, depending on whether we have accepted God into our hearts or not. I believe that I will go to heaven, nott because of what I have done but because I have accepted what God has done for me. Heaven is pretty much the same thing as Eternal Happiness. We will be given our new bodies and made perfect like God originally intended us all to be. So really we will be transformed, re-born, given eternal happiness and made perfect. All of the things that you mentioned in your question.

When you die your spirit goes to a similar place, as it often goes in one's sleep. Dreams can seem really real, because they often are, but with your spirit in the spiritual realm. After death, the spirit will eventually want to return to the right fresh body for it. Life is one of cycles. Reincarnation of the continuous type, keeps one in this reality, in this universe. It is not an alternative type reality afterlife. Life has struggle for a reason. Struggle brings out the most in human potential and spiritual development. If we get good at the struggle of life, and at addressing the problems of this world, we will have a spirit well able to cope in future lives.

The Bible answers from Eccles. 9:5, 10 and Psalms 146:4.
At death all our thoughts perish. No work, feelings, thoughts, desires can be done by the dead.
Jesus knowing Lazarus was dead, said he was asleep. Not trying to be funny, he was trying to teach as always. In sleep, there is no outward activity or knowledge of what is going on. Jesus then woke him up or resurrected him as was part of his power from God.
Many people will have varied ideas for life after death. Those are ideas of men. What I have shown is what the Bible says.

Who knows!
There's always stories from people who've died, and come back to life, But how do we know that that's death?
It might just be some kind of limbo, between life and death where you haven't reached either.
So anyway, yeah.
I personally think that when you die it's like a long sleep.
Maybe sometimes you dream, and those are the parts when you visit loved ones and you're conected with them, or maybe there's nothing.
I guess maybe it depends on how you died.

Not too hard to spot the atheist, reincarnationist and 2 Jehovah's Witness answers here.
I hope you find yourself before you die - or rather - that you are found before you die, because after that it will be too late. The Bible says, 'It is appointed to men to die once, and after that, the Judgment.' To die before your sins are forgiven in Christ is to go to a lost eternity. He is seeking the lost, thankfully.

when you die you are conscious of nothing at all (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10). while you dont know anything in your grave, you will await there until the resurrection (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29.) Also see John 11:21-24.

You enter Heaven or Hell. It's not what I choose to think, it's what I know through reason. You can choose many things to believe in life, but are they reasonable? Do you choose to believe that when EVERYone dies they enter eternal happiness because you want to, or because you find reason to believe that. I could believe in the ice-cream religion because I want to, but does that make it reasonable. Hopefully you get the point.

It is easier to understand the answer to this question if you know where we were before this life and why we came here.
We all lived together before this life and we chose to come here to this Earth.
We wanted to come here to be tested on whether or not we would make good choices or bad choices. We learn right and wrong through teachings given by God through His prohpets. We can also learn right and wrong by experience and examples and making mistakes.
As we choose the right, we will hopefully one day be worthy to dwell with God in eternal happiness. But only if we want to - God has chosen not to force us into submission.

I think we go to a resting place where we can can loved ones who have passed and have time to learn and regroup. Then I believe we return to a new incarnation to try to improve on our past mistakes.
