How long can I have a thought in my head before it becomes a sin? 5 seconds? If I'm able to enjoy all these thoughts for the legal amount of time, do I avoid sin?

No , It is the thought of wrong that is a sin . No man can avoid sin Romans 3:10 " As it is written , There is none righteousness no not one ".
