No, the computer had to be designed, by a team of omnipotent and nerdy engineers. This is the theory of nerdilligent design. Of course the operating system, that was probably kludged together from somebody's old college thesis project.

If todays laptops evolved from some computer that just "popped into existence" on a beach somewhere, how come there are still computers on beaches?

I don't understand what point you are trying to make, but I agree the computer was most likely built, although it is possible that all the atoms randomly combined in that order but extremely unlikely.

If everything is so complex that it, from your viewpoint, obviously had to be created by something, then that creator would have to be a good deal more complex than the creation.
Therefore, because it's so much more complex it needs to follow the same rule. so,. who created the creator?

Hopefully the computer would not resemble a Microsoft product. Instead, I would hope it would be something more evolved, like a Mac.
