If I may ask, how long have you had her? How much do you tend to handle her?
Hamsters do not need shots and they live indoors where they can't get rabies. I have 11 right at this moment and have been bitten alot, and nothing has happened to me yet. You have to have patience with them, and I don't advise wearing gloves to handle them. Gloves will just make them more afraid thus causing them to bite more. I gave one to a friend of mine who had to give her back because she said she bit, I took her back and that very night I cleaned her cage and picked her up and she never bit me; she squeaked and acted like she would but I just kept on talking gently and stroking her fur until I was able to pick her up without her squealing at me. She had been handled with gloves by my friend, and the hamster was terrified.
It takes alot of love and patience to get hamsters to become "friendly," and tame, but in my opinion and experience with the ones I have, they tend to stay that way no matter how long it's been since I've held them or who touches them or handles them. None of mine will bite me or even my 5 year old daughter who regularly helps me care for them. They've also been known to let my 2 nephews (who are 3 and 2) hold them and love on them, without fear of biting them.
And don't eat something and then go hold her, she can't see too well and will bite thinking it's food, in other words she can't tell the difference between the smell on your fingers and your fingers themselves. Wash your hands before you handle her.
If you are worried about the hamster giving you anything, don't be. You could give the hamster more (in the way of sicknesses) than she can give you. I don't handle mine when I have a cold or the flu because I don't want to give it to them.

Hamsters do not require any immunizations like dogs and cats do. You have done nothing wrong there. The only way it can get rabies or any other contagious disease is by coming in contact with it. It's not very likely your hamster has been outside to come in contact with any wild animals that would have rabies, so you don't have to worry. Your cousin will be fine. Hamster bites are not dangerous. Just wash it off, put a bandaid and a bit of peroxide or neosporin on it, and it will be fine.

Hamster teeth are very sharp just like any other rodent and will punture the skin. Just clean it with peroxide and an antibiotic cream and you will br fine. Hamsters don't need shots. Just be careful not to care her and you should be fine. If she is nervous about being held use oven mitts or thick gloves to hold her and she should get used to it. As for her biting you little cousin the kid may have been too rough with her as little ones don't always understand the concept of being gentle. Good luck.

Usually hamsters do not have any type or anything, as long as you got he or she from a clean pet store. As for stopping the biting, wear thick protector gloves. Hold your hamster and let her explore around. If you do this for a couple of days, soon enough your hamster will get used to humans holding it, and the hamster will be biting free!

Hamsters first give you a warning bite first that doesn't hurt. But when you keep bothering them they bite you hard and you bleed. A lot. So be careful. My cousin got bit and she screamed cuz it hurt and it took a lot to stop the bleed. So please be careful. Make sure to let it sniff you hand first so I could get used to you.

they don't need shots.
and nothing will happen if they bite you if you keep your hamster indoors (which you should - they would die elsewhere)
outdoors could get fleas, or carry lyme, etc.
