I'm not ashamed. I drink. I'm ashamed of the fact that I sin, but not too ashamed to admit it.

I, in my life have never met a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that is perfect. Even I am not perfect in any sense of the word. If we were, we'd all be taken up into Heaven just as God did with the City of Enoch in Genesis and the Book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price. I have been an inactive member and have come back stronger than ever. I have succumbed to temptations and have asked the Lord for forgiveness. I feel I have proved my worthiness of gaining my recommend by striving to follow all the edicts and promises I made at my baptism and through my own endowments. I pray and ask for forgiveness everyday, at least I like to think so. No Mormon is perfect and we don't ever claim to be. Even our beloved General Authorities, including the President of the Church (also a prophet of God) has said in the past that they also ask for forgiveness. Joseph Smith never claimed to be perfect either and has suffered retribution for his disobedience to God. Our bodies are weak, but our spirit is strong and everlasting.

Your statement is very flattering, but rest assured that Mormons are not perfect. I'd rather not share with you which sins I have committed, but I will say that Mormons are just as capable of falling into serious transgression as anyone else. We do hope, however, that we can live our lives in such a way that others will see the light that shines within us (Matthew 5:16).

the thing you seem determined to over look is that what ever sin I or any other Latter Day Saint may have committed, we have or are repenting. Praying for forgiveness is something we are taught to do, weather we are members from child hood or found our path as adults. I have been excommunicated and returned and been reinstated. so now I know never to do the thing again that got me there. Now my faith is stronger and I am more determined that not only are the nay sayers wrong but I am sad for them.

Yours is a highly personal question, but I've repented and gained forgiveness of my sins.
One sin had been of inactivity from 1972 to 2004. I'm now back and stronger than ever in testimony and motivation.

That is a very sensitive and personal question, one I do not think many people of any religion or persuasion is openly going to share to a complete stranger.
However, for me, using too much time on the computer that I could be doing some where else and be more useful is one of them.

My patriarticle blessing called me out on the worst thing I ever did, and since it was not a blessing to get it, I left the church, I guess the patriarch talked to my mom or the mormon God was just not a loving God, either way I lost faith with the church after that. Email me and I will tell you.

if by perfect you mean gullible than yes. I mean come on! Joesph Smith looks into his magical hat and talks to God, you believe that i have an old shoe that lets me talk to the Easter Bunny.
