No, Lair isn't that bad of a game. I have Lair and I think that it's a good overall game. The visuals and graphics in Lair are stunning, the story is pretty good, and the gameplay is like nothing else really.

Lair got such a bad rating because the Sixaxis controls for flight were madatory for the game and some reviewers couldn't get used to the Sixaxis controls or something. Some people will catch on to the controls faster than other people.

Also, some of the reviewers said something about the Sixaxis controls not being responsive at times, but there is a catch to this though. The reviewers played an earlier version of Lair that was near completion but not done yet. Also, Sony delayed the release date of Lair for about a week on the day that it was supposed to come out to improve on the game and make little tweaks to the game. I didn't have any problems with the Sixaxis controls though.

Lair is an overall great game though, it's a shame that it got so many bad reviews. If I were to rate Lair, I would give it a 8.0 out of 10.0

i hear that gamespot calls it a beautiful disaster. They literally mean it. The graphics are beautiful but the gameplay and other stuff is pretty bad. Although thats gamespots opinion, you might like it

i hear people say that the reviews are complete nonsense and the game is actually playable. You should rent it first and see how you like it.
