I just got an 8 week old puppy. He weighs about 7 pounds. I saw that Revolution offers a product for "Puppys and Kittens" (an all-in-one). Is this safe? Is it too early to start my puppy on Revolution? My cat is on Revolution too... but I'd like to get my new puppy on it as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!

I've already decided to use Revolution. I had LOTS of problems with my cat and spent a lot of money on other treatments that never worked... nothing ever worked for my cat except Revolution, so I have already decided to use the same for my dog

i personally do not like revolution. there is too much room for error when using that product as heartworm prevention. plus it get absorbed into the blood stream.

i think you would be safer using an oral heartworm prevention and a topical flea prevention. i use sentinel and advantage.

your puppy is not too young to start heartworm or flea prevention.

Get your Revolution from the vet, they will give the appropriate sized pack. It can be used on puppies and kittens from 8 weeks of age, unless they are especially tiny (which yours isn't).

It is safe, although I do not trust it to prevent heartworms. I'd go with Advantage or Advantix for fleas, ticks etc and put him on an oral heartworm preventive like Heartgard or Interceptor.
