if there really is a god, do you think he'll send us to hell for not believing in him? or more for making fun of his followers?

I think he'd send us there more for mocking christianity than for just not believing in him...

Who makes fun of "his" followers? Actually if you look at most of the comments to Qs in this forum you'd see religious peoples (Christians especially) ridicule and Mock Atheists and others more than anyone else here. It's funny how they want us to disregard two of the few true and proven things we have in life, history and science, and believe in unproven history based upon a fictional multi-authored, contradicting plagiarized text. Heaven and Hell are not even relevant thoughts to true Atheists. When you die you die.

I think that, if there is a god, though I don't believe there is, He's more likely to send you to hell, if there is one, if you mock christianity. It's perfectly possible to be an atheist and not mock other religions.
In any case, belief and faith is not a choice, and anyone who thinks it is is ignorant and dishonest. Belief is either there or it is not - or something happens that causes it to be there. You can't CHOOSE to believe in something or not, just because it suits you better or is more convenient. So any god that would create you and then send you to hell for something that's not your choice, is a god not worth going to heaven for. It doesn't make sense with any "goodness" that God supposedly has. If you're a good person and don't closemindedly ignore something that might clearly show you that God exists, I don't think he could possibly condemn you... for being exactly how he made you. This doesn't mean you can't be an atheist, it just means you should allow yourself to admit to yourself if something holy or godly happens. Atheism doesn't mean closed-mindedness, which is a common misconception, especially among closed-minded non-atheists.

If we're athiests and there really is a god it wouldnt matter because we still wouldnt believe in god now would we? As for you why bother asking? I mean I'm an athiest and it annoys the crap out of me when people try and persuade those that arent christian/catholic/whatever to join them. Everyone has there beliefs and you should respect that instead of trying to change someone. I mean I wouldnt try and make you not believe in god would I? But certain things have happened in my life to make me believe that a god doesnt exist, if when I die and I just feel like I'm sleeping forever with no heaven or whatever then I'll know I screwed up but until then I'm happy with my decision

When will we ever get it? This question has been raised and answered a million times it seems and yet it is as though nothing has ever been said! Will we ever get it? Hell (the lake of fire) was not prepared for human beings but for Satan and his evil angels and once the fire will have done its work, the punishment will be everlasting, not the punishing, but the punishment! The Bible says that Satan and his evil angels will be no more. See Ezekiel 28.

Here is how the Bible says that Satan and his evil angels and all those who have rebelled against God will be annihilated to be no more. After the final judgement the unsaved of all ages will turn against Satan and his angels to tear them apart. Why? Because they will accuse them of being responsible for their being lost. This will be the struggle of the ages. This battle is described in chapter 28 of the book of Ezekiel, verses 1:19. As this battle rages on, fire will break out from the midst of them and this fire will finally turn all the wicked, Satan and his angels included, to ashes, as the Bible says it will and the result will be that the wicked will be as though they had never been. See Obediah 16. This is how "evil shall slay the wicked." Psalm 34:21. God will not even lift a finger. The wicked will destroy themselves. God will not interfere.

I repeat it, the doctrine of eternal torment is based on the false doctrine of the immortality of the soul. The Bible teaches that immortality is conditional and it will be conferred only upon those who are entitled to it at the second coming of Christ. See 1 Corinthians 55:51-56; 1 Thess.4:14-18.

The Bible does not promise eternal life to impenitent sinners but eternal death. Death is the absence of life and there is no resurrection from this death. In the Bible this death is called "the second death." See Revelation 20:6.

God bless!

I you were really atheist, since you don't believe in god there would be no one to send you to hell and you're also using karma (buddhism) based on your question. If god forgives us for our sins then he wouldn't send us to hell for the bad things we have done to others. God is supposed to understand others stand behind the decisions you make. So if you didn't believe in christianity he is "supposed" to understand.

Not for mocking and or persecuting Christians...I knew a famous Christian pastor who was tortured for 14 years for his faith in Christ...He won a countless number of Communists to the Lord by loving, forgiving and blessing those who were torturing him...The tortures that he endured are quite disturbing.. having red hot knives and metal pokers inserted into the flesh and muscle of his back, beaten on the bottom of his feet, hosed down with water as he stood naked in sub zero temperatures, starved until he looked like a Holocaust survivor, made to eat feces and drink urine, caged like an animal in a very small cell for 3 years(he could not even lie down to sleep)...and these are only a very few things that he withstood,by the grace of God in order to win souls to God...( and yet he would have been released immediately,by simply denying the Lord before his captors and by promising to keep silent.. God used him in a great way to further His kingdom. This man, named Richard Wurbrand, was an extremely intelligent human being and was able to communicate in 14 different languages about the love of God. Why would one gifted with such a powerful mind endure these horrible 14 years of terrible agonies(I have only relayed a very FEW) and still have a smile on his face, being even more bold to witness for God... No one will enter Hell for mocking Christians, but rather for denying the Love of Christ on the Cross, The Love that Pastor Wurmbrand paid a heavy price in sharing with some of the worst monsters on the planet.

Normally, I do not break protocol by answering a question that was not directed at me...

You make your own hell - and you decide to go there of your own free will.

God doesn't send you there - He wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth - but He never forces you to do anything - love and obedience given under duress is not really love at all - He will be patient with you and give you many opportunities to repent and turn back to Him.

But in the end - you choose your own destiny.

If you haven't understood anything nor felt any convincement toward religion you are not under any sort of judgment. On the other hand, mocking and insulting people (whoever they might be) for personal enjoyment runs contrary to any secular moral code that I'm aware of.

There is a God,however he is merciful and kind.He wont send to Hell for not believing but if you cause harm to others then you just might incur his anger.

If there's really a God, I don't think he's anything like the one in the bible. I'm pretty sure God would think hell is a terrible, barbaric idea.
