Ok, I've been on a balanced diet for 2 months now. I lift every other day ( light weights more reps) with pushups. Plus i run a mile everyday, and on my non- workout days i do ab workouts. I've seen some results but not much. I know 2 months isn't very long but i was wondering what i could take to gain lean muscle with that non body builder look. Again I dont want bulk just think lean muscle. Any suggestions on how to speed up the process? Is glutamine a good suggestion? I dont want to get fat or "bulky" from taking a supplement. please help. Thank you.

The amount that your muscles grow is directly proportional to the amount of protein you feed them with. You keep tearing the muscles with exercises and for them to repair themselves, they need protein, so if you give them a ready supply of protein they'll be able to repair themselves and you can then start to use bigger weights and such, and the cycle carries on. It wouldn't surprise me if bodybuilders eat tonnes of protein enriched food each day.
So, just stick your balanced diet, up your cardio routines a bit to really get rid of fat, giving you that "ripped" look, and keep your weightlifting routine.
Oh, and the creatine and L-glutamine by themselves won't give you bulk, they need to work in combination with other nutrients to do so.
So, if you really don't want to take supplements, don't. Easy as that.

Also, instead of doing a routine that steers you in the direction of a bodybuilder, why not develop some routines for yourself that are akin to what the armed forces guys or fighters use.
Just a suggestion :)

You can actually get it done without supplements.
Trust me on this one, I did so without.
But it was a lot of hard work, but I enjoyed doing it, as well as the reults :)

L-Glutamine is only an amino acid it will definetly not bulk you up. L-Glutamine is the most widely used amino acid in the human body, so it is in high demand and the body can never have too much of this amino acid. it is best used when on a reduced calorie diet to help reduce muscle metabolism. you should use no less than 10 gram servings. the lining of the stomach is very fond of L-Glutamine and will hijack a portion of it.
