that number is emphasized three times, because they know that out of the billions of people that have lived on earth there is no way they are going, so they have to deny it so they can think they are going because to them the only other choice is Hell?

lesbi-friends/ have you forgotten about the angels? Add 144,000 to the millions of angels and you have quite a great crowd.

I didn't fail to mention the faithful people of the great crowd that will live forever on earth accidentally, I wanted to see who would bring it up.

That could be a factor. But I don't think it's the whole reason. They have been mislead for decades by their religious leaders, even by their parents, to believe that the only choices are heaven and hell. They are not open to believe anything else in most cases, because they are also told over and over that listening to any other ideas - particularly if they come from JWs - are false and to be feared. Also, an important factor is that "Satan keeps transforming himself into an angel of light" - they firmly believe that they know the truth.

Edit:

Note- Rev 7:9 does not refer to the heavenly class - but to those who will live forever in the restored paradise on Earth

Edit 2:

even many of the answers to this question reveal that most misunderstand what the teaching of only 144,000 means for everyone else. It does not mean that only 144K will be saved. it merely means that the rest of the "great multitude" who are saved will live on Earth - a Paradise, in perfection.

The scripture Revelation 7:9 points to a DIFFERENT crowd of people than the 144,000 spoken of earlier in verse 4 of chapter 7. It shows that there are two distinct groups - one that will go to heaven - the 144,000 and then the other group that will enjoy everlasting life here on a restored earth (God's original purpose). The scriptures at Psalm 37: 9 -11 say " For evildoers themselves will be cut off,
But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.
And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
And didn't Jesus teach us to pray for his fathers will to be done on EARTH as it is in heaven, showing that God has a plan for the earth?

The 144,000 in Rev. are from the 12 tribes of Israel,They are a Tithe of Jews that will carry the Gospel after the Church is caught up,They will be doing very Hard Work to Spread the Gospel in 1st half of Tribe,They are caught up at mid trib, as to Believers in book of Revelation,There will be Millions of Gentiles that accept Jesus Christ,and Millions of Jews,It will cost them their Life,but they will not accept the "Global" Religion,some of the Mortals will survive that seven yrs of extreme testing to be the Ones, that enter the Millennium and will repopulate the Earth;---As You say this group is Repeated three Times,they are Jews not Jehovah Wittiness; The Book of James , Emphasis is on Works , Is addressed to the 12 tribes of Israel; There is going to be Chaos when the Church "Individual Jews and Gentiles are Caught up" ; People want A Wall of Separation , between them and Believing Followers of Jesus Christ, God will give them one;

The Heart of Man is desperately Wicked , Who can know it?

The only other choice is living forever upon the earth.
When your wicked God told Adam "for dust you are and to dust you return." For the vast majority of humans God created the earth. That was always meant to be Adam and Eve's home. Revelation 5:10 shows how he picked certain ones to judge the people of earth. He picked people who had lived here and died here and knew what we faced as humans. It all makes perfect sense.
Even the angels, spirit persons wanted to live on the earth.
They gave up their heavenly positions to do so.
That is a wonderful reward for faithfulness.

Actually I don't believe it because the book of Revelations was written in Greek by one member of a seven church community in what is now modern day Turkey that were converts into Christianity from the Neo-Platonist school that was based in Halicarnasus and spread throughout modern day Turkey. It uses huge amounts of Greek Gemetria familiar to Neo-Platonists and Neo-Pythagoreans in the region at that time filled with "code terms" and "word/number" transfiguration that appear strange to a modern day reader unable to decipher these codes. Anyone schooled in the Greek language or knowledgeable in Greek Gemetria can decipher these references for what their 1st century meanings were. The book was never meant to be read literally and should never be deciphered in a text outside of their original Greek context. These doctrines about "144,000 saved", "666 being the name of the devil", and other ridiculous things like that all came from people that were not educated in Greek, Greek Gemetria, or 1st century Greek culture. This is why this text was heavily debated upon at the Council of Laodicea and barely made it into the canon by a small margin of two votes.

this is a misconception perpetrated by the Jehovah's Witness Sect. The Bible says in Revelation that 144,000 will be left behind to witness to the twelve tribes if isreal, 12,000/tribe.

Heaven is open to all who believe in the messiah John 3:16

However after the "End Times" God will make a new heaven. and Earth and populate it with his faithful.

p.s. sirimore, the book of revelation was written by the apostle john while in exile in the island of Patmos not by a convert.

But there is a third option you fail to mention - quite prominent in their beliefs - those saved believers who aren't part of the fortunate few 144,000 get to reign in an earthly paradise for all eternity!

12x12=144 and what a way to decide who goes where and when?

Christianity and it's off-shoots of American Independence worship the Sun God Zeus who, in Greek mythology, is responsible for the 4 seasons, hence 4 Gospels, and 12 months of the year, which is the creation of the Sun God, which is why there are 12 disciples, and the Gospels themselves show you many more disciples, in the trick of the Bible.

Worse yet!

The 144 are white folk and the black man must live in heaven on a transformed Earth with Lions and Tigers and clean up the mess they make too?

And the blind lead and the blind follow!

Freedom of worship is freedom to deceive with a crucifixion of two thieves whose names were invented for the trick of the crucifixion and who were mistaken for one until they arrived at the City Dump for further torture and death with broken legs and a hanging till all the flesh was eaten off and only the bones were left.

What a way to die?

This Pilate guy sure knew his stuff and had the Christ safe and away from the scene before the first ball of spit hit the first thief.

Who will believe crucifixion of Christ after the Quran denies it and the Bible agrees with the Quran 100%?

Revelation 7

4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
