My puppy is 4 months old. He is supposed to be a purebred dog, but I noticed that he has webbed toes. I know that water dogs such as labs have web toes, but I didn't think that pitbull did. Pitbulls don't even like the water. Does anyone know the right answer?

All boxers have webbed toes on their two front paws. Its because in German, that's were they are from, would help bring in nets from the ocean. So its very normal. My boxer is the same way. So don't worry about it. If you have anymore questions about boxers just email me. Hope I helped.

ALL dogs have some webbing between the toes.

how webbed are they? skin between the toes is normal. if it is excessive, i would suspect poor breeding. a dog can be purebred, and still have genetic disorders. i know several pits who swim very well, better than some labs i know.

I have never heard of a pitbull to have webbed toes but it could just be abnormal.

They are not supposed to.If the mother had a litter ofnon-purebreed puppies the litter before this it could be a throw back. That happens a lot in apbts. But purebreeds definatly should not have webbed toes.If you can afford it i would get a dna test for your dog.And pitbulls can love the water as much as any other dog.
all my dogs are purple ribbon, champion blood line.
