Thy have to get around, don't they? If you want lower gas prices .. Then USING A LOT OF IT will lower it.

If everyone stopped buying gas for one day -- Then the gas companies would run low on money, and want to raise the prices of gas.

Not getting gas isn't the answer.

You can't tell people what people what to do. Chances are they're just going to laugh in your face because like previous answers have stated, the world runs on gas. And I'm sure your life in in one way or another made easier by gasoline, so how about you focus on yourself and not others. Trying to alter people to meet your beliefs is a futile task.

We have plenty of oil reserves in the world to keep us going for the next 100 years. Alternative fuels are on the horizon...but prior to today they simply weren't economically feasible. Everyone should do their part to conserve as a matter of daily life...but remember that while you may use less gasoline than I do I may have a much smaller home that uses less energy. I may also recycle more than another. My point is you can't judge anyone's "carbon footprint" simply by looking at the amount of gasoline they use.
It's much more complex than that...

You cant really say that to anyone theres no baseline on how much is to much it depends on what their doing and individual need no matter how much gas we use its still going to cost a lot because the oil companies will never let it be cheap so it doesnt really matter

If todays gas prices won't convince them, I don't know what will, I don't drive anymore than absolutely necessary because I can't afford it and refuse to keep making the oil companies richer!!

Simple: Eliminate NASCAR!

According to NASCAR, about 6,000 gallons of fuel are consumed during a typical NEXTEL Cup weekend. For the 2006 season, the total for the season would be 216,000 gallons. One environmental critic recently estimated NASCAR's total fuel consumption across all series at 2 million gallons for one season. Yee-Gads, people!

They drive in a circle for 500 miles. For what? So they can celebrate by doing “donuts” and burning their tires out? (Mother Nature loves that, I’m sure!) I just love that old joke that referred to NASCAR as the “Redneck Mafia”. And just for the record, it is an EVENT or a COMPETITION, not a sport.

We have to start somewhere, and this is obviously a big factor!
