I bought a cheap set from canadian tire that was on sale.It had 6 audio/video plugins,my tv has only 4 in the back.My vcr,dvd players didn't have enough plugins either.I had to bring the surround system back. I thought it'd be easy, bring the system home, plug it in.Noway.
My tv is a 27 inch digital from citizen which I just bought about a month ago.It was a demo and didin't come with a manual. If you could tell me exactly all I need to know about attaching a surround sound system, that'd be awesome, thanks very much.

Most TVs don't have enough power to feed directly a surround system, not even a pair of external speakers.
You need to get an AV receiver.
You connect the speakers to the speaker output of the receiver and you connect the audio output of the TV to the input of the receiver.
