Polyvinyl Chloride is the most common plastic piping material. If you look in Home Depot they sell white 10' lengths in a variety of standard diameters. Each diameter size (1/2", 1" etc) comes in a standard wall thickness and an extra-thick wall thickness, both with the same outside diameter.
