I'm not just talking about Parisians who tend to have a rude reputation, but all of France.

Actually the French supported us and they enjoyed the Church of Europe and were at odds with England and the Church of England. During WW2 they got real upset that we used them as a staging point and dumped the Red ball Express in their laps. i figured they wanted it in Germany.

They now figure all Americans are like Jerry Lewis, who they like and have given him the prestigious Charles Degaul medal. So they think of us as a goofy comic.

I've never had aproblem there and normally have to hire guards to go with me on banking business to keep the women from pawing on me. They are great cooks and have pretty good wine. the other people there are ok, but all talk funny But let's face it a wink is a wink from a lady.

Matter of fact you know how they used to me against us, well after my trip, you noticed they elected a president that likes us. Well the power of French women. That's why I am not worried about our election. Take care.

Being fortunate to have been able to listen to French President Nicolas Sarkozy addressing the U.S Senate, and Congress members on CSPAN a couple of weeks ago... The French over all are grateful to Americans and America in general. They were grateful that we finally got into WWII after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Because when that happened both countries (Japan and Germany) ticked us off royally. Sarkozy said that when we got involved, the U.S. saved France. He also said that when 9/11 happened, France felt our pain and morned with us. But when we Americans all stood together, and showed courage about being undefeated, France saw how we Americans pushed through that and became even more determined and stronger. That is why the world always wants the Americans to take the lead, and show them how to go about doing the same for them in their own countries. He said that France will always be friends to the Americans and one of our best allies as well.

I wish everyone could have heard that speech. It was a good one. I admire the man for praising the U.S. and her American Citizens.

Viva America, Viva France

Dear Sandman:

Good Question~ Sandman!

Generally~ They do NOT "think"
about American's too much.
They live their own lives!
Some think We are CRAZY
for working our BUTTS OFF!
French People live a more Leisure
Life. More People Orientated & less
Corporate Controlled. Their people are
NOT FEARFUL of their Govt.! Rather~
THEIR Govt. is FEARFUL of their People
& their Strikes & Demonstrations! This is
the exact opposite of the USA!

Permit me to establish some perimeters?
My post here is from a World Traveler.
I am going to make GENERALIZATIONS!
What does this mean? In OVER 51% of
the time, my assertions will be "True"!
(There is NOT enuff time to address all
the smaller %'s *EXCEPTIONS!)

Firstly:
The French "Like" us! (& They Better~ we
Saved Europe from the Axis Powers
during WW2 & liberated Paris, France! :-)
Historically? They Supported our
Revolution in the late 1700's against the
Brits. Basically, the majority of French Citizens believe that most Americans are
Political MORONS. I think they are correct.
We are "Mental-Midgets" when it comes
to having the necessary training in issues
pertaining to Poli-Sci! The Truth may hurt!

France~ & Our Media & Govt:

Americans are so naive, that they are
easily swayed by our Media & our Govt's
continuous Propaganda! Have you
noticed all the rude jokes generated
AGAINST The French SINCE 9-1-1?
What a CROCK! France is a Tremendous
Country! Most Europeans are Much More
Sophisticated & in tune to times, *MORE
then the Majority of Ignorant Americans!
They basically "LIKE" our People~
BUT ..... HATE OUR GOOFY Govt.!
(Just like the rest of the WORLD)

Health Care?
Most Fr. citizens think we are CRAZY!
They like our country but are perplexed
how we tolerate our Imcompetent
Govt.! Why are We so FEARFUL of our
OWN US Govt? They can't believe that our
own Govt. is unwilling to provide proper
Health CARE for our Citizens! (I ponder
this every day!) If ANY Frenchie gets sick
in France? It's ALL PAID FOR thru their
OWN Health Care System! Americans?
I guess we have demonstrated that we
would rather spend our tax's on a ONE
TRILLION $ IMMORAL WAR with the
Wack-Iraqui's!

Bottom Line Sandman?
Don't be manipulated by US Media & Govt!
Many times the French are portrayed as
an ineffective SOCIALIST Regime!
The US Govt tries to spread LIES &
Instill FEAR into the US Populace.
The "S" word SCARES Naive Americans!
Most of the French are NOT mere
"Wussies" & Haters of Americans! This is
an obvious ploy by our powers that be, to
spread manipulation & Propaganda to
Naive minds in N. America! Our twisted
Bureau-Crats are "In-Bed" with the Drug
Companies & the UN-Health Care
Conglomerates that are prevolent in our
US Political Structure! This is INSANE!

The old trick, like the Wizard of OZ?
"Pay NO Attention To The Man Behind
The Curtain"~ Scenario!

Come on Americans~ WAKE UP!
Open your eyes to REALITY!
The Frenchies are actually pretty KEWL!
And so are WE! :-) But ........,
don't get "Sick" in America! YOU LOOSE!

The French think of Americans as uneducated, overweight world tyrants. I know this for a fact, that a majority France's populas thinks this way. In a way if you step back and look at ourselves, they are kinda right. We feed into our own propaganda so much that we believe that our way is the right and ONLY way. You can't deny that we are overly patriotic to the point that the majority of americans would stand by our government, even if we were doing trendous wrong to the rest of the world. So yeah, French people hate American culture and government but not so much person to person.

They think we are rude, obnoxious, uneducated louts. And that's when they're feeling extraordinary kindly towards us. So do the Germans, the Spanish, the Belgians, the Dutch, the Portuguese, the Italians, the Greeks, the Austrians and the rest of Europe.

Depends on how you act when you're over there.

Too many Americans act horribly boorish in other countries. I've seen it, many many many times. This has given us an awful reputation.

Personally, I thought the French were very nice and helpful when I went to Paris earlier this year. I know how to say maybe four things in French, but every time I greeted someone ("Bon jour" or "Bon soir") they always reacted positively. Even when they found out I was an American.

The response I got most often was, "We LOVE Americans!" They better, lol. Sure spent enough money there!
