What is the best way to chop home made bird suet in a equal square?

Without chopping it to death? My always fall apart even so they have been in the freezer for hours? I put wax paper in the baking dish and than pour the hot suet in it. Help!

No need to cut it, or they would have already done it for you.

There are little green cages you put them in, whole, and then the birds peck through the wire openings.
