remember that those things that seem to big for us to handle can be given to God. Prayer is powerfull. Talk to the lord and keep him close in your heart. When I worry about things I write them down and put them in a small box I call my prayer box. Somehow this makes me feel God is keeping it even though I know he hears my prayers this is special to me and helps me to have peace about situations I can't find peace in alone. Your in my prayers.

As much as you love him and would like to see these things happen, you cannot force him. And most times bugging about it will prolong it ( I know, I used to bug people).
Your mom is right, love your Dad and show him your model of a good Godly daugther, doing that and never stop praying and trusting God for it are the most powerful things you can do.
There is something going on with him from the past - so ask God to heal it in His way, and to give him his love for church life back.
BTW - you are awesome.

Have faith and never doubt the power of prayer. God answers all, even though it is in His own way and own time, He will not over look your prayers. One of the best ways to get people to church is to live your life in a way that glorfies the Lord. Matthew ch.5 verse 14, read it. If your light is uncovered and shines, then chances are good that your dad will see it shining and maybe follow it. Keep the faith, Russ

Praise the Lord for your baptism! It's refreshing to hear of some teens who are obedient to the Word of God. That's the good news, and those of us who are believers do rejoice with you and pray for God's very best for you.
Now for the bad news. Your dad won't go unless he wants to. That's the long and short of it. Sadly, our culture seems to place more of a virtue on those who mock God or have little to do with Him than those who stand up for Him.
One book that may shed some light on this is "Why Men Hate Going to Church"--your local Christian bookstore may have it. So pray for your Dad (mine quit going to church years ago, but he claims to be a believer too), and live for Christ as best you can. We are to be salt and light in this world and there's no better place to start than at home. Someone made the observation, "You may lead a horse to water, and you may not be able to make it drink, but you can put salt in his oats to make him thirsty". Don't give up. We'll be praying for you and your family.

Maybe your father doesn't approve of what the church does.
I, for one, am very mistrusting of churches and what they say, however I still read my Bible and I depend on Yahweh to open my eyes so that I understand the scriptures, as opposed to listening to a pastor, another human being.
This could quite possibly be the case with your father, and it really doesn't make him more or less of a Chirsitan. As long as he follows the Lord's law, he should be good.

She is SOOO right!
Asking Jesus into your heart gets you into Heaven.
Then when you get baptized, you are letting the public know that your heart is changed.
You cannot get your dad into church unless he wants to go.
My Dad did finally go with me a couple of times after I got older, but it seemed like he NEVER would. By then, my Mom wouldn't even go.
Be glad that he is going to Heaven,
Have you ASKED him if He believes in Jesus?
Or have you asked him if he were to die tomorrow, would he got to Heaven, for sure?
THAT answer will let you know if he believes in Jesus.
Only pray for him to go one day.
God gives us the power of prayer when we accept Christ into our hearts.
No one can EVER take that away--you hear?
You can NEVER lose your salvation.
No matter what some unbelievers may say,....
God is so awesome! He DOES answer prayer, and He DOES give us the desires of our heart.

Don't push so hard. Just get him to think about spiritual things while you're in nature or talking about experiences or from what you have read. I'm sure he'd go if there was a party there. Would you want to go someplace uncomfortable just because you're ordered or guilted into it? God loves and understands. Relax.

You cannot get him to do anything he doesn`t want to do.
God can.
Pray for your dad. Let Jesus deal with your
dad. Have faith and trust the Lord to do His will in this situation.
Being baptized doesn`t mean you are going to heaven unless you have accepted Jesus as your personal saviour and believe that He died for your sins.

Why can't you respect his choice? It sounds like he has had the church shoved down his throat his whole life, now even his child does it to him.
That is the type of thing that started me on the path to being an Atheist.

Your mom is right. There is no way to force him into relationship with God. Pray for him. Love him. Understand him. And let the Holy Spirit have a turn at him.
