The pope is no more the devil's agent than you or I. He is the figurehead of a worldwide cult. That is what I think.

So , let us try to follow your logic...

Jesus chose St. Peter as the leader of the apostles and gave him the keys to the Church.

He promised that the Church established by Himself and the apostles would endure until the Parousia.

The Bible says that this Church is the bulwark and Ground of the truth.

Before the apostles died they appointed successors and new popes were elected.

The pope is the head of the Church that Jesus said would never fall into apostasy.

Was Christ a liar when He said all this or are your sources false? I believe that it is your sources that are in error and that Jesus told the truth.

It appears from the evidence and history that those you have been talking to and whose advice you have been taking may be the devils agents with their lies about Christ's Church. Perhaps some real research is in order from better sources.

In Christ

Someone has to wear all those rings. A devils agent? How pathetic are those ministers - assuming to know the mind of their "creator". I, unfortunately do not think you have done the research.

I do not think a pope is necessary nor does he serve any purpose, however, it is not in the bible and your minister should do some research, perhaps you can do it together.

The Fundamentalist Protestants of the multitude of sqabbling sects who do so are reading their antiCatholic traditions of men (not to mention their hateful bigotries) into texts pulled out of context.

They should remember that Christ said the "you know not the day or hour' of Christ's coming and they should be prepared every day to give account for not loving. Lord ,have mercy on us all.

The Pope is the successor of Peter( Matt16:18-19) and therefore the chief steward(vicar) of the Church. i think that the Pope is God's Agent. How do those myriad pastors of the myriad sects know that they are God's agents?

Well, that is the only thing they agree on, because they disagree in all other things, each of one interpreting the Bible at their wish.

I wouldn't pay much attention to that idiocy. They twist the words of the Bible to make it fit what they want.

Not important

About your question, the pope is still there because Jesus Himself told Peter that He would be with them until the end of the times.

I thought you knew that, don't you read the Bible ?

Unless you found the word "pope" in the Bible, you don't know what you are talking about. But that's okay--religious people are often too busy riding their own particular hobby horse to do a reality check on themselves. Happy Thanksgiving!

He is head of a massive international organisation the deals in finance and property all over the world. He is also head of a country. True it is the smallest in the world but still a country with a lot of power. You have to have a head even if most of the work is done by managers

Actually, there are only a few breeds of Christian who say that the Pope will be the Antichrist. These are American Evangelicals who are premillennialists in the Darby-Scofield tradition. None of the more traditional (reformed) traditions believe that.

In my oppinion people who pretend to know who the anti-christ is and when Christ will return are anti-biblical and not Christian at all! How can the pope, a very loving and gentle and extremely faithful person be the anti-christ? Ridiculous! Your research is anti-catholic, which in turn is anti-christian and you need to be careful. Christ said no one knows the time nor the Hour! and unless the bible clearly says the Pope is the anti-christ i will believe that the pope is the anti-christ!

Quick lesson:

Peter was the first pope appointed by Christ himself! Mathew 16:16. He gives peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven and the power to bind and loose. Are you calling Christ the founder of the Catholic church the anti-christ?

Fundamentalists can prove anything they like from the Bible; especially from Revelation - Except their own nuttiness of course.
