i really wanna ask him out but i'm afraid he'll think i'm a stalker or desperate. how can i ease into it and what would be the best way to ask him out? pleez help.

Just say, "We should hang out sometime". That way it you won't sound too desperate. I find this usually works for me, so try it.

It would be nice if you had a special but casual event to ask him to. Do you belong to any clubs that are having a get together, or could you ask him to come to a meeting with you? If you and a few other friends have plans to meet at a public place for something ask him to go along, that would introduce the idea that you are interested in him. You might also ask him to particpate in a hobby you have, like hiking, or taking digital photos. It might be easier if it didn't require expenditures on your part or was kind of low key. He might feel more inclined to accept.
