I want to make two yams for thanksgiving. What temperature do I put the oven at and how long does it take to cook? Thanks a buuuunch!!!!!!!

Preheat your oven to 425 F.......wash and dry the yams and then rip a couple of pieces of aluminum foil to accommodate the yams, rub the yams with olive oil and then place them on the foil and lightly salt and pepper them......wrap tightly in the foil and put them in the oven for about and hour.......remove the largest and pierce it with a fork......if there is absolutely no resistance, they are done......I like them very simple: butter, salt and pepper.....Enjoy!!!

Wash the yams off, and put them in a 400º oven for 45 minutes.

yams take longer to bake than potatoes.

400F for 1 1/2 - 2 hours

Same as white potatoes-400 degrees for about an hour. If they are large or you need them faster microwave fist for a few minutes each before baking.

I don't even know what a yam is?! Is that a meat from an animal, a vegetable, a fruit, or what?
