I am a criminla justice major, I have just been recently arrested for dui, will it affect my career in the future in the criminal justice field?

Depends what job you actually want to pursue in that field. As a cop, yes, it CAN affect your ability to get hired. Not an automatic disqualfier in all places, but it won't help. In other occupations, it just depends.

If you are found guilty yes. You will receive a license suspension, possible jail time/probation, alcohol counseling classes and hefty fines. You can try to get the conviction expunged after about two years or so but it still can be pulled up for a peace officer position. You sure didnt help yourself out at all.

It most definitley will, However all is not lost you could become President of the United States. George W Bush was arrested for DUI in Kennebunkport, Maine (1974) or, if you don't set your sights as high, you could become Vice President, Dick Cheney was arrested twice for DUI, plus he shot a guy in the face. Keep your chin up.

A DUI/DWI conviction will keep you out of law enforcement.

If your career involves you driving motor vehicles owned by your employer - yes it can.

Yes...they sometimes fail you for character checks, sometimes the criminal, and sometimes the psyche because its substance abuse related. Many times you will not be hired because of this.

yes it all reflects when you have a criminal record you should know better and also would see it as bad judgement

don't know for sure, but it shouldn't we all do stupid things. they shouldn't follow you for ever. less you do a lot of them
