Judging by the way you ask the question, stay home and don't open the door to strangers.

It's not the breed of the dog you need to worry about, it's how it has been raised. If they were raised to be mean, then they'll probably be mean, but if not they probably aren't. The only way you will know for sure is to go over there and find out. Don't be scared of the dogs, because they can sense fear. Assume they are nice, but be prepared for if they are not. I'm sure you'll be fine and make sure your bf is there when you go over, so he can monitor the dogs and their reactions, rather than have you coming in as a stranger.

This is a great opportunity for you to learn the love and loyalty of a dog. Ask your BF to help. Suggest he just gets one dog on its own and helps you to bond with him. Crouch down and approach the dog with your hand from a low position under the dogs mouth / chin.

Take it slowly and you will discover that dogs are wonderful. Your BF wouldn't put you in a danger. He will know that his dogs are safe.

For the most part, Boxers are one of the most gentle breeds of dog. They were bred to look mean, sound ferocious, but to be very protective of children or anyone that they think pose a threat. They were not bred to fight, like Pit Bulls, but to "separate." My boxer will get between anyone she "thinks" is threatening, bark threateningly as if warning you, but pat her on the head and she melts to the pushover baby that she is. I think you should tell your b/f how you feel and let him introduce you to his dogs. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I understand your fear.

I was afriad of black labs for years after watching one attack my dad in front of my eyes when I was 7 years old.

However, I later learned as I got older, black labs are extremely sweet and loving, and that the one who attacked my dad was badly abused by his owner.

You should ask your boyfriend to bring his dogs on neutral ground, and introduce them to you one at a time.

Ask him to keep them on leashes, and allow them to approach you.

Boxers are generally sweet dogs, gentle giants. they're one of my favorite breeds.

They're very misunderstood because some "Look" mean, but the ones I've been aquainted with are the prissiest babies.

They can actually be quite amusing.

However, if you're scared, your fear can in turn make them weary of you.

So meeting them on neutral ground, one at a time, on a leash, will calm your fears, and get them use to you.

Be afraid only if you have proof that HIS dogs have been known to have an aggressive propencity.

if you have serious fear issues of dogs, you may want to talk to someone professionally if this is a man you want to be with, and find out the root of your fears.

There's nothing wrong with that. Don't be embarrassed by that.

Like I said, I had that fear for years until I went into becoming a vet technician.

I learned where my fear came from, and the truth about the animals I feared.

I'm somewhat scared of dogs too, but I try not to let it bother me. Dogs can sense if you're scared, so try not to let it show.. almost every dog I've been scared of has turned out to be really loveable and playful.. so just try not to let it bother you. Besides, your boyfriend wouldn't let anything happen to you.. at least, I'd hope not.

well, if you do go to your bf's house, and you feel uncomfortable with the dogs being around, just ask your friend if they can put the dogs in a room or put them outside. And just remember not to show your fear becuase the dogs can sense it soo if you could remember to not be to scared of the dogs maybe you can become more comfortable with them around.

you should call them to tell them if they could tie the dogs up away from you.

If you think he'll make fun of you and laugh so you don't want to you shouldn't feel that way.
