Uhh....no it wont change the world because others have asked this.

Joseph's youngest wife was 14, and she was not wed by force. Also, a personal note, my aunt who is neither Mormon or a polygamist got married when she was 14, she had 6 kids before she was 21, and she's still married.

You question, if there is one, is hard to understand. However, being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I would love to take this, or any other opportunity, to share by testimony of Joseph Smith. A young uneducated farm boy, with no formal education, was the means by whcih many have come to know Christ

Source of Scripture: Joseph Smith produced almost 1000 pages of what he claimed to be new scripture, more than 8 times that of Paul in the Bible. You may not accept these writings as scripture, but there really are nearly 1000 pages of instruction and history that at least must be said have the sound of scripture, together with an internal consistency, as well as a consistency with the words of the Bible. Impressive for anyone, but what can you make of this from someone with only a 3rd grade education. The world has insisted that someone else must have done at least 500 pages of this (The Book of Mormon). They are still looking for that someone else. But, that leaves nearly 500 pages of similar quality text that lists Joseph Smith as uncontested author. Like those last 500 page, the rest of this list of accomplishments cannot be handed off to someone else, there were too many witnesses.

A Theologian: He was left alone to embark upon the ocean of religious thought, having rejected every known vessel with which to sail and never having built one or even having seen one built himself. Surely if impostor, the bark [or ship] he could build would be indeed a crude one" (David O. McKay). The theology he did proclaim went way beyond the thinking of his time.

A Philosopher: He had a profoundly positive view of mankind and his eternal potential. His unique view of philosophy is beginning to come to the attention of the learned of the world. For example, a Danish historian is examining the life of Joseph Smith within the context of the philosopher Kierkegard. Another is looking at similarities between how an uneducated Joseph Smith translated sacred hidden texts and a similar Tibetan tradition where monks hide sacred texts to be discovered and translated at a later time.

Josiah Quincy, a non Momron in 1844 said:
It is by no means improbable that some future textbook, for the use of generations yet unborn, will contain a question something like this: What historical American of the nineteenth century has exerted the most powerful influence upon the destinies of his countrymen? And it is by no means impossible that the answer to that interrogatory may be thus written: Joseph Smith, the Mormon Prophet. And the reply, absurd as it doubtless seems to most men now living, may be an obvious commonplace to their descendants."

Frankie are you playing Warren Jeffs?

No Joseph Smith isn't a pedophile if he was Jerry Lee Lewis was worse for marrying a 13 year old girl who was his cousin.
He married girls with their parents permission. I don't know if he ever comsunated the marriages but only Emma gave birth to his children.

I believe he is a true prophet of God.

The problem with the people of today, who are NOT members of the church, have very little, if nothing constructive to do, but ask insulting questions.
Joseph Smith was a true man of God. He was a young boy, who wanted a religion to believe in something. He was then ""told'' what to do. And the rest is in the ''History of the church.
All of the derogatory things written about him, have been written by, people who were enemies of the church. they hated him, and were not afraid to lie, and slander him. He most definitely, was NOT a pedophile. And, comparing Jeffs to him, is like comparing Hitler, to Buddah.
If you want an accurate description of Joseph Smith, read the History of the Mormon church
And yes, he was a real, and modern day prophet of God.
Warren Jeffs is a monster, and should have been imprisoned for the rest of his life, locked away from decent people.
If you are a member of the church, and have questions like this? Talk to your bishop.
If you are NOT a member of the church, stop asking ignorant questions like this, and go to the lds.org, site, and learn the truth.

Whoever said a prophet of god couldn't be a pedophile both at the same time? I think JS was both prophet and pedophile. I'm going to write a blog called: "Joe Smith: Profits from Pedophilia or A Misunderstood Prophet?"

Are you a pedophile or a prophet? Are we supposed to guess? My honest guess is that a prophet would not ask a question like this---he would have no need to do so.

Warren Jeffs is not Joseph Smith. Warren Jeffs is no more a Mormon than Billy Grahmn is a Catholic.

He was not a prophet, he was a freemason. Freemasons believe they are related to the templars who found Egyptian writings and artifacts after digging up the Solomon Temple. Because of their find they deemed all religion came from Egypt and noone knew what the truth of God was so they decided to make up their own God organization. In that the heads of their temples are set up as Gods. After learning these things Joseph Smith decided he to coud make up his own religion and decided to. Mormonism is based on a total lie but to thier credit they have some great values even some Christians do not. Further more for the record; the Templars and thus the Masons were mistaken, what they found was what was left of the Egyptian cult of ATEN who had fled Egypt long after Moses and the Israelites had come and gone. But that's ok we all make mistakes..

The fact that Mr Smith was a false prophet does not inequivocally lead to the conclusion that he was necessarily a paedophile. Grow up.
And learn to spell.
