Occassionaly when using the auto-filter function in excel, it does not show all records in the database. Why is that and how can i fix it? (tends to be with larges spreadsheets 40k lines plus and maybe 30rows across)

I have NO other filters set. (As soon as you set a filter the row numbers turn blue.) Its just when you drop down the filter in a particular column it doesn't show all the data that is for a fact in the database. Normally the last options in the filter list is "blanks" "non-blanks" etc...well those dont even show?

Check to make sure that there are no blank rows in that worksheet Excel usually stops the flitering at the first blank row.

After viewing the records for which you filtered, you have to deselect this option to again see all records. click the down arrow next to the field for which you created the filter, then scroll up and select "all."

Then, click Data
cl Filter
cl Autofilter to remove the down arrows next to field names

With the number of columns you suggest (30), if you reduce the view to, for example, 25%, it will be unreadable anyway.

For special reports, you can hide the columns you do not want to appear in the report, print those you do. When finished, click the Table Select button to select the whole table, and click Format, Column, unhide to display all columns again.

You use a filter to remove or hide certain data/information which is probably why you cannot see things. Remove the filter and you might find your data. Don't use anything if you don't know what you're doing.

Go into the data menu and remove the filter.

yes, but "copy" then "paste values" only ... if you just PASTE, you bring over all the hidden cells as well.
