I'm 15 and interested in commercial or print modeling. I don't have any experience in the field. Also, I'm not looking to make a career out of it or anything; I just want to try it out for fun, and maybe make a little extra cash. I live in San Fransisco, CA.

Should I attempt to sign with a big agency like Ford or Elite? Should I stay small? Should I just go freelance?

I have my parents permission, and have no idea where to start. Advice?

If you do happpen to sign with Ford, that would be fanstastic

anyway, apply to any legit agency. Ford is famous and probably one of the most legit.

The thing is you have to ask them if any training is required.

Whatever you do, a legit agency shouldn't ask for money.

Models need to be very tall and very slim. You can earn more money with acting. TV commercials and movies are your best bet, Model agencies can help you with information on how to get started with acting. My daughter started as a model at 15 but put on weight so turned to acting and has appeared in many commercials and TV shows. They pay much better than modeling work unless you are at the top of the ladder. Looks are not so important for this but acting talent is what counts.

u need an agent with years of experience or u will get shafted...so put together a portfolio and send to some reputable agents and they will guide u from there..look up how to make a modeling portfolio on the net if u need to and dont go with any agent who wants money its a scam..call some agencies that are big and ask if they can give u any contact info of good agents looking for untrained young talent interested in getting into the field.

Bring your portfolio to agencies. Make sure the agencies are real though. f they ask for money before they find you a job, forget it.
