oh absolutely! that shows you're definetly responsible and really commit.

umm...well i think $5 an hour is a great price..but it depends on how you want to charge them per hour;; how many kids they have or how many chores you're doing are great ways on charging extra! $5 is a good starting rate, but if they have more kids, i'd request charging about $1-$3 extra per kid. and if they make u like clean the house or something extra, i'd request charging an extra couple dollars or so..like between $1-3 for adding ANY extra costs. you don't wana seem cheap, but you also dont want them to lose all their money!!

wel i am a babysitter too...although i am 12. well wat i suggest is once you get one customer, after the job, if u and them know u did a good job, ask them if they can tell people about you. give them some exttra flyers or business cards to hand out to people they know. oh and also ask for a letter of reference or a phone number, but i'd do the letter. so then wen ur asking a new client, you can show them that proving ur experienced and know what you're doing.

also, working at ur church nursery is GREAT! i do that, and there are so many kids there, its great!! they luv that u take some time to help out theere and would DEFINETLY request u as a babysitter knowing u care that much to go there.

but don't forget to ask neighborhood families and also ask ur parents to hand out some flyers to their friends/coworkers that need a babysitter.

also, take courses and read PLENTY of books on babysitting. for courses i definetly request babysittingclass.com and ur local red cross has a great babysitting course too. they both give u good supplies afterwards..and the red cross gives u a GREAT book. for books i request 'the babysitter survival kit' from the editors of 'Parenting' magazine and also "babysitter's business kit" by american girl.
hope i helped..and if u need any other help on this...contact me. i know wat i'm doing!

Yes. I am 13 also. Really word of mouth is the best buisness but you probably need to be a litle bit older for more jobs. I usually just have my prices open because its a lot easier. Good luck:)

I hire sitters as young as 11 years old, so yes I would hire a 13 year old. We pay $4.00 per hour to our sitters for our son and we live in Illinois. Word of month works good or your mom talking to other moms. Letting as many people as you know that you are looking for sitting jobs. GOOD LUCK!
