I think I was pretty old, maybe 10. I had my doubts, but I was still devastated when my parents confirmed it. I think we were out for dinner at a restaurant and my mother said, "You know that there really isn't a Santa Claus, don't you?" I wish parents wouldn't try try so hard to make kids believe in something that sooner or later they're going to have to un-believe. When kids have doubts, that's the time to come clean, not keep leaving an empty milk glass and a plate of cookie crumbs.
