You can do that but put it in the microwave for smaller incriments of time and as it softens mix it up a bit so that it thaws evenly. You could also put it in a big pot of hot water to let it thaw.

It really doesn't take that long to thaw at room temp., but if you need it ASAP I would use the very lowest setting on your microwave and keep an eye it. You would not want to cook it and make it soupy then you can't use it.

yes you can do it. it does nothing to the whip cream. all it does is thaw. hope it helps
