I truly just DON'T believe in God. People who do believe in God have an overwhelming sense of comfort in their life, which, even if there really isn't a God, is absolutely fine with me. Why live your life worried about what will happen to you when you can just tell yourself that "everything happens for a reason" or it is all in an omnipresent God's "plan for you"? The bottom line is though, that I DON'T BELIEVE IN IT! Not that I don't *want* to, I just truly don't, and if I said that I did, I would be lying. It takes more than stories passed down from generation to generation (like Santa Clause or the Greek Gods) and a book (has anyone heard of FICTIONAL BOOKS BEFORE?!) to convince me to dedicate my life to worshiping a non-human power.
And how do you know that Christians are right? Why not the Muslims? They believe in what they do just as strongly as you believe in what you believe. How do you know that YOU'RE right? Again, no answers of "because the Bible says it."

The truth is that there are absolutely NO concrete pieces of evidence that say that the Christian God, or any God for that matter, exists.
What about the Greek Gods? For a while everyone believed in those, but now it is universally accepted that that was completely false. There was a book saying that they were real, in face, numerous books. Books are nothing but ideas that people write down and give to other people. By the way, don't say that "GOD TOLD (whoever) TO WRITE THE BIBLE EXACTLY AS HE SAID!" That's not proof. It's a story, and a far-fetched one at that that you choose to believe.
Why isn't the Christian God just another fallacy that hasn't been revealed yet?

Typical Christians.... unable to answer my questions so they divert to other topics in a desperate attempt to draw attention away from their false beliefs.

I agree with your logic and I've always thought along the same lines.
You've included many questions and they are more or less the reason I came here to R&S.

God has given us all a choice and it's up to us to take it. Is good that you question faiths, i know many people believe in a religion yet cant seem to answer the simplest questions when asked. No wonder why your asking the question you need to. Im speaking as a muslim, but dont let that put you have if it already hasnt. Christianity didnt really answer alot of Questions that needed to be answered, and that not the believers faults infacts thats because the Bible is not the actual word of God. Islam is not there to ablolish the laws before it but to confirm what is written in the Torah, Palms and Gospel. Which are all holy books muslims believe in. You just have to look around and see which faith has the answers for you and is the truth. Theres no harm in taking a look.
These are common questions i have about Christianity.
Why does the Catholic Bible has seven (7) more books than the Protestant Bible?
Why do these two Bibles have different versions of the same books?
Why are there so many mistakes and errors are from the very first verse right up to the very
There is no word "Trinity" in the Bible in any version of any language
Jesus of the English Bible complains about the 'crucifixion'
("Eli! Eli! Lama sabachthani? - My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?") [Mk 15:34]
How can Jesus be the "Only Begotten Son" of John 3:16? When in Psalms 2:7 David is God's "Begotten Son?"
Would a 'Just' God, a 'Fair' God, a 'Loving' God -- punish Jesus for the sins of the people that he called to follow him?
Didn't God create Adam from dirt? -- So, why does he need Mary to make Jesus?
And what about God?
How can God create Himself?
How can God be a man?
How can a man be a God?
How can God have a son?
The Bible says "Seth (is) the son of Adam" and that"Adam is the son of God." [Lk 3:36]
Can't God just forgive us and not have to kill Jesus?
And what about Jesus?
Jesus did not even carry the cross -- Simon Cyre'ne, a passerby did! [Mk 15:21]
Jesus of the Bible was NOT on the cross for longer than six (6) hours -- NOT three days -- (from the 3rd to the 9th hour) [Mk 15:25 & 15:33]
Jesus of the Bible did not spend three days and nights in the tomb -- Friday night - until Sunday before dawn -- is not 3 days and nights!
Jesus DID NOT claim to be God - or even equal to God!
here are some websites that may help answer your questions. These are not just for muslims but for anyone who questions the exsistence of God or there faith.

Good One :).
God Gave us the Gift Of Choice... It is your Choice to be skeptical.
Faith is something Believed ,even Felt..not seen or proven.
That IS what makes it so very Powerful.
We have been Given the Gift to manifest, make, and create.
Some Like myself Have been Given signs Because I doubted too..
..If you truely seek you will find HIM everywhere. Tell Him you Doubt..Then Open Your Eyes.
If you still need proof Here two other ways :)
1.A Exercise: Have nothing else on your mind.completely visulaise the Lords Prayer as you say it. word for word from the King James Bible.
If you give Him Just that much attention..A few words no longer than a poem.....
He will Let you feel Him in every cell of your Body..Try it ask HIM to show YOU becaus you Doubt so Much..you will see
You may even get a funny feeling when you pick up the Bible.
2. if you need Physical Evidence Please Go to wyatt musieum dot com ..Ron Wyatt Christian researcher
Good Luck, If you are truely searching He is Right Next to You :) God Bless

It helps, when looking for answers, to frame the question in a way so that it can be answered. Asking questions like "if it's five o'clock in Germany, how many girls named Gretchen are there" tend not promote peaceful nights of sleep.
Your feeling of being punished is both an external and an internal sense. There are obviously lots of people who don't believe in God who are very comfortable and secure in their beliefs, just as comfortable and secure as the people who do believe in God (specifically their version of God) and who manage to maintain their belief despite the belief of others. And there are many people of 'faith' who manage to maintain their faith despite the doubt and negation of others.
So the question of whether or not one believes in God, or not, is irrelevant from a broad social sense, so your question is intriguing. You sound like you want to be convinced there is a God (people who are secure don't get bothered by personal questions) but the answers you have been given so far haven't really satisfied you as of yet.
Whether you realize it or not, there is a difference between believing in someone because someone else says it and believing in someone because you believe it to be. In other words, convincing comes from within the person, which is why it is so difficult to convince someone otherwise of their opinion.
Muslims don't believe in God because other Muslims tell them to, although I am sure some do. Muslims believe in 'their' God because that is what they would do even if no one else did. The same goes for Christians, Buddhists, Hindus', even atheists. Belief is not about 'making' people believe; it is about opening the door and sweeping the floor in preparation for the person who ventures inside.
Does God 'punish' you if you believe that 2+2=14? If you want to look at it indirectly, in terms of no one will hire you because you don't know how to add, then God punishes for people doing what they were going to do anyway. However, it might be better to say that believing that 2+2=14 is going to make your life harder than it should be, but even that doesn't mean that God is 'angry' with you.
What is the greatest gift a person can give you: the freedom, and the permission, to be yourself? That means being whoever you want to be, when you want to be it. It also means giving you the freedom to believe in things that, later on, will turn out to be not true. Just because you believe the world is flat doesn't make it so, but denying you the option of believing it is also denying you the journey that such decisions create.
Other people may 'punish' you for what you believe in, but just as God allows you to make your own mistakes, God allows those people to make theirs as well, and that includes doing things to people that they shouldn't do. The freedom to be wrong is really the only freedom there is: existence is built to do the right thing (turn on the hot water when we want hot water, stand up when we want to move, open our mouths when we want to speak, ask for what we want when we want it.)
Robinson Jeffers wrote a poem that contains the line "Be angry at the sun for setting, if these things so anger you." If/when God wants you to believe in him/it, God knows where you are at. Your skepticism is not a punishment, it is a gift.

there are two kinds of skeptics...
>>Acts 17:11 "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."
>> 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
do you see the difference? will you be the investigator to see if it is true, or just another skeptic because it "sounds" like foolishness? make the right decision because it will cost you everything in the end. follow the evidence where ever it may lead you...and when it is an unbiased search always leads to God.
ADDITION: the only way to know the Bible is right is to put it into practice. Jesus words are always proven right. for example...
matthew 5:38-48 "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies[i] and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
are the above scriptures subject to skepticism? after all we get 2 of todays greatest tools for life, business and ethics.
the golden rule & going the extra mile for someone.

Christians can have peace in trouble in this life, because they know that this life is only for several more years.
And if they stay true to God, when they die He will take them home and they shall live together with God for eternity.

Look, believe what you want and I'll believe how and what I want. I choose to believe in Christ. I do not require proof, I believe by faith. My choice does not make me stupid, naive, or wrong just because you do not agree. However, I'm sure you would agree, there is only one truth. Which of us is right? We'll see.
