You can repeat it until you are blue in the face, but it doesn't change the fact that you are worshipping something...your own knowledge.

The truly sad thing is that you and I and everyone else on the planet KNOWS that humans don't know everything, we know that our minds don't always get it right and that there are countless things on this earth that we can't explain using the faculties of reason...but you still put absolute faith in your own ability to know the truth. If you want people to stop accusing you of having religious beliefs, then stop being so religiously faithful to the idea that you KNOW something about an unprovable and untestable hypothesis. If you want to truly be non-religious, become an agnostic...they are the only ones truly living without faith or worship!

There are 2 factors you advance on your question, which i will answer one after the different: a million- i've got used the Santa Claus occasion earlier. it is an analogy- for sure no one believes in Santa, the FSM, and so on, and that they does not gain this except there grew to become into an extremely good reason to recommend that those have been actual. Likewise, an atheist does not have self assurance in God because of the fact they are no longer happy that there is any reason to have self assurance he's actual the two. this occasion is merely used to spotlight the element- you do not have self assurance because of the fact there is not any data. Granted, there's a humor element, yet it is an analogy. 2- The form of human beings who have self assurance in something has easily no pertaining to how ultimate that's. data is the only subject that concerns. At specific factors in historical past, maximum folk of the Earth's inhabitants believed the planet to be flat. that doesn't make it flat. It took basically some scientists to teach this grew to become into the case, overriding the perception of numerous the inhabitants. The form of believers isn't a trademark of the validity of the form.

being an athiest is called REALITY. Athiests are smart because they are not BRAIN WASHED. Religion has the greatest bull.s.h.i.t. story ever told. Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky, watches everything you do, every minute of every day, and the invisible man has a special list of 10 things he does not want you to do.and if you do any of those things he has a special place full of fire and smoke and burning and torture, anguish, where he will send you to live, suffer, burn, choke, scream cry for eternity BUT he loves you. And he needs money. All powerful, perfect, wise but can’t handle money. Religion takes in billions of dollars, take in no taxes and always need more. You talk about a good bullshit story.

If there is a god most reasonable people would agree that he’s incompetent and maybe doesn’t give a s.h.i.t, which would explain a lot of these bad results. Rather than be just another mindless religious robot aimlessly, mindlessly, blindly believing that all of this is in the hands of some spooky incompetent father figure who doesn’t give a s.h.i.t I decided to look around for something else to worship like the sun.

Some people treat god rather rudely, asking trillions of prayers everyday. Asking, pleading, begging for favors. And most of this praying gets done on Sunday, his day off.
Suppose the thing you want isn’t in god’s divine plan, what do you want him to do, change his plan? Just for you? Isn’t it arrogant? It’s a divine plan. What’s the use of being god if every rundown shmuck with a $2 prayer book can come along and mess up your plan? Also, suppose your prayers aren’t answered, what do you say? Well it’s god will? Fine, but if it’s god’s will he will do what he wants to anyway, why bother praying in the first place? Seems like a big waste of time.

the longer you live the more you look around you realize something is messed up. Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption. If this is the best god can do I am not impressed. Results like these don’t belong on a resume of a supreme being. In a decently run universe that guy would be out on his all powerful a.s.s a long time ago.

Repeat it all you want but rabid theists will never "get it".

When gawd and worship is the cornerstone of your life you can't comprehend how a person doesn't worship. So they create this situation where we *must* worship something as if that's the default position and there's no way to move beyond it. I've actually had people say to me, "but you *have* to worship something. You can't go around not worshipping something."

Atheists understand that existence is contingent on perspective. Therefore, it is the atheists right to utilise any position in order to further the argument that any one perspective is as invalid as any other. This is a positive experience that reaffirms the individuals right to choose. There is no appendix to the definition of 'choose', it is in itself a freedom only circumscribed by those who do not understand its illimitable possibilities!

I do understand. Atheists deny the existence of any higher power, isn't that correct? We should all be respectful of each other.
