Only for thanking God, for without Him there would be nothing to be thankful for. I am a true believer of the Word of God. He is the one who gives everything to us, believer or not.

Thanksgiving is a time for the family to gather together and give thanks to the Lord for the blessings of the harvest. I grew up as a farmer and although I am now consigned to a family garden, the end of the harvest and firewood in for the winter are still a great blessing from God. We also are thankful for our family and enjoy being together. The kids watch the parade and I get a few peeks at it while I am getting the meal cooking. The women seem to gather in the kitchen and visit while the guys play games like ping pong, or entertain the kids. None of us are interested in football unless it's being played on the front lawn.
We pray together as a family and thank God for His goodness and ask Him to watch over and bless those in need.

Watching parades, football, and overeating are fun traditions. BUT, it's called Thanksgiving Day for a reason. We should be thanking God for all He gives us. If someone can't be thankful at least one day out of the year, then why make today different from any other day?

I celebrate Thanksgiving Day as a time to reflect on the people I have in my life who have helped me become who I am today, and how thankful I am to them for their love and support. I also celebrate it as a time to get together with my beloved family and enjoy each other's company, share love, laughter, and good food (my brother-in-law is an awesome cook!). I like to think about how thankful I am to my family for being such wonderful people to me, and to the others they come in contact with. They spread so much love and happiness wherever they go.
Religion: None. We are all atheists now, after all going on various spiritual journeys through many different kinds of Abrahamic religions. The most religious among us is my mother, who is a deist leaning toward atheism.

It's a day off from work for me.
I'm not sure it's a religious holiday. And it's great that people want to love their neighbors and respect one another and not kill each other and all of that -- but it's too bad that a lot of people need a superstitious belief system to tell them to do it.
Happy Thanksgiving, Dave, and I'll see you at work tomorrow. I want your report on my desk by 10 AM, by the way.
