I'll get my recipe out...here ya go.
Sweet Kettle Corn
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS
Place the popcorn and sugar in a large pot with vegetable oil. Over a medium heat, begin to pop the popcorn. Constantly shake the pot to ensure that the popcorn kernels and oil do not burn. Once the popping has slowed, remove the pot from heat.

SUCCESS!!! The other reviewers aren't kidding, this kettle corn tastes just like the stuff at the fair. Here are some tips... I used a wide and heavy bottom stainless steel pan with high sides. Be sure to use the 3 kernel test (Preheat your pan with medium-high heat, add all of the oil along with 3 kernels of popcorn. When the 3 kernels pop, the oil is ready!). Once the oil is ready, add the rest of the popcorn and quickly sprinkle the sugar on top. Place a lid on the pan. Alternate, in three second intervals, between leaving the pan on the stove top and lifting and shaking the pot. Once the popping has slowed, remove from the stove top and immediately sprinkle with salt. Let it cool a little and try not to eat the whole batch!

Take a large pot ad some vegetable oil, granola oil, or peanut oil. Maybe 1/4 cup I never really measure. I simply cover the bottom of the pan I use with a thin layers. It should have a high smoke point. Ad corn kernels. Only cover the bottom of the pan. Don't over fill. Now let the whole thing heat and put a lid on. You will notice when it gets hot enough as the popping sounds give it away. Watch the sounds closely as all the kernel pops the sounds will get less turn off the stove. Sometimes the lid will rise if you used to many kernels don't worry just leave the lid on and turn the heat off. If you take the lid of too soon the popcorn will be all over the place.
When still warm put the pop corn in a large bowl and sprinkle with sugar. Enjoy

Put oil or butter into a pot with the popcorn kernels, put lid on, and heat, you will hear them popping don't take lid off until the popping has stopped, and make sure you don't put too much in otherwise you will have a big mess. While hot toss in fine sugar granules.
