slightly but that' not really a good idea. wearing ankle weights only adds a load to the quadriceps when the leg if lifted. there is no added load to the hamstrings. this creates an even greater muscle imbalance that most have between the quads/hamstrings basically making injury more likely in the future. muscle imbalances are the 2nd leading cause of injury when exercising, not keeping proper form is the 1st.

If you are not much taller than 6'(1 85cm) and dunking is difficult and does not comes to you then you will need this system from here https://tr.im/KZ1U7 to learn how to dunk without a problem.
The Vert Shock plan promises you something between 9 to 15 inches improvement on your own vertical jump.
With Vert Shock program you will not require a fitness center since all you want for the work-out is really a park benchor a little wall and a smooth floor where you can do your level leaps and your field jumps and a basketball for some exercise.
With Vert Shock you'll learn how to dunk 9 to 15 inches higher in only 2 months without high priced gym.

Unless these ankle weights have little jet packs on them that are thrusting you forward, then yes, you are burning more calories. Why would adding more weight not cause you to burn more calories?

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Fitness buffs, in an effort to increase exertion thus calorie burning sometimes carry hand weights or velcro-attached ankle or wrist weights while power walking or jogging.
Benefits from this added weight has been deemed miniscule in recent studies.
Furthermore, increased risk for injury makes the practice unsafe. Ankle weights, in particular, add to the stress on legs and feet and can cause tripping and falling. Distorted rhythm and balance can disturb proper form. Damage to ligaments and muscles is a greater possibility as well as reducing speed. Hand weights are great for standing or sitting exercises but leave them off on your next run, walk or aerobic dance class.
To burn more calories when you walk, walk quicker while concentrate on moving your arms more vigorously.
I have known people to buy rucksakes and fill them with sand. Problem with this is again you will alter the centre of gravity through the body placing undue stress on the spine.
Yes I know! walkers, hikers even the armed forces walk with backpacks but they are trained to walk a particular way, in order not to damage their body; they also walk slower.

Yes it does. I looked into this recently for myself and it does help to burn more cals however they are really meant to be used just for floor work rather than cardio and can build up only calf muscles quickly rather than making them smaller. If this is what your looking for then continue doing it! 1.5lb ankle weights are quite heavy for each ankle so make sure you don't cause strain and hurt muscles by doing too much too soon. They can also affect walking posture so make sure you check this regularly.
