sure i would. because if god asked me anything, i would be delusional and therefore not in my right mind. so if i believed he was talking to me, i'd be crazy enough to kill my parents

I would not do that and here is why.
No one can comprehend that story except by faith. Abraham knew God's voice all of his life. And that act was a prophetic act of someone who loved his son and believed God no matter how strange it seemed. See Hebrews 11:17-19
17By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
This was a prophetic act by Abraham that God himself would send his own son in the future to save man kind from sin and separation from God.
Let's just say we can say with confidence there will never be another Abraham for any Jew, Islam, or Christian to repeat what he did.
On the other hand. There have been many false religions where that was done. And we can see from Abraham's example that the true God would never want man to do that.
I hope this helps.

It certainly would be a test of faith in God's sovereignty.
God's purpose with Abraham was to test his integrity and to foreshadow the sacrifice and death of Jesus.
All things being equal... the question should be: Do you have the integrity, the moral character, the absolute faith in God to entrust Him with decisions concerning life and death??? even if it means the loss of a loved one?
Look what happens when we send are children to defend our country... when we send them to schools where homicidal maniacs use them for target practice... when at anytime, the environment exposes them to chemicals at such a toxic level that no life can be sustained, even on the microscopic level.
These things I listed (and many more) are caused by man. Do we shut ourselves in or trust... have faith that all will work out... that our loved ones (including ourselves) will be protected? Only one being has that power... to respond... to stay the course of disaster.
Ironically, it is said that one needs only to have faith the size of the mustard seed to move mountains.
Getting back to the original question... and not playing dodgeball... I have faith that God knows what He is doing when He is doing it. It may be perceived as a great personal loss. I'm a temporal being remembering what He has done for me in the past. He transcends that plane and will do what is necessary in His time.

No, God would never ask me to do that. Abraham was the only trustworthy person God has asked to do that. God knew what Abraham was going to do, and God knew that the son was going to be safe because He was going to offer the sacrifice. This story is foreshadowing the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
Abrahm knew God was going to let him to keep his son.
This experience was more important to Abraham than it was for God.

Goatboy, Think, can God create something that he can not lift? God can not contradict Himself, He is Perfect. He demands total obedience. We imperfect goof-offs messed things up with screwing up the will we had and chose not to use it for Good. We can only continue on the journey, rocky as it is. God-luck on this infamous journey of existence.

Back in Biblical times, God spoke to many people. He doesn't need to do that anymore because He speaks to us through His Word. And if you truly knew God, you'd know He'd never ask that of us.

Isaac was Abraham's son.
If god asked me to kill my son or my parents, I would not do it.
I am a moral person. I know right from wrong. I do not need any god to dictate that to me.
