Guys please, I don't understand the fuss, please try and understand the difference, neither will drawing similarities will convert us MUSLIMS to hinduism, nor will accepting the fact will convert you into MUSLIMS! let's observe the differences:-
1)if idols were only meant to face in direction of, why are different hindus giving different answers. I have got mails from hindus telling me that even they don't worship the stautes as GOD but need them to concerntrate upon when they pray. Are you telling me those hindus are lying? If yes, howcome muslims don't give different versions about the role of KABAH? whereas amongst hindus, some say that it is for representation of GOD and on one hand is you(you are the only one I have come across who is saying this) who says that it is just something you face when they pray to ALLAH.

2) If there was any comparison to be drawn between KABAH and idols then even idols should have been only ONE like kabah is, unlike how it is there in every hindu household which hindus face while worshipping, you may find pictures of KABAH put up in muslim houses or even small sample pieces but we never bother to even look at it or face it while praying whereas it is a known fact that all hindus who keep statues face it while praying.

3) If idols are only for reference, why are there gender varieties such as durga ma, ganpati pa pa, saraswati ma, shiva etc, we don't have any genders attached to KABAH, infact we don't even decorate it like a human being is dressed, there is only this black cloth with a verse written on it which is changed at intervals(when the cloth gets dusty) but without any changes of colour or appearance.

4) we don't have KABAH being made in every corner of saudi, there is just ONE which was built by PROPHET IBRAHIM(P.B.U.H) and was later on renovated in times of PROPHET MUHAMMAD(P.B.U.H). Here in india we have artisans making murthis every where.

5) we have stood on KABAH to give azaan, hindus do that while immersion, well, they have to because the statue is so gigantic at times that it takes more than man power just pushing it in water, to immerse it. Do hindus stand on it WHILE PRAYING in temples or at home or in offices.?

6) If it was really about direction then why don't all hindus face in one direction and pray to ALLAH, say any one temple in the whole country, then there can be some comparison, otherwise the fact that there is an idol in almost every home says a lot about how a hindu faces it individually while praying, we don't face different versions of KABAH, say if someone has a model of KABAH at home, we don't start facing that leaving the real direction behind.

7)when hindus are looking at a statue and praying, they are facing different geographical directions all over the world, some hindus keep their stautes facing east, some west, so all hindus keeping statues, pray looking at stautes but kept in various directions. That way a hindu praying in india facing an idol kept in east side of his house has nothing to do with another hindu praying in california who has kept his idol in say north of his house. This hugely seperates the purpose KABAH was built for. Because of KABAH, all muslims praying all over the world at different times of the day(5 times a day) get united because all are facing in that ONE common direction even if they are not able to match each other by praying together at the same time .

8) KABAH is the HOUSE OF ALLAH and not representation of ALLAH, whereas idols are made to represent GOD at the time of prayer. Sorry brother, I don't want to sound hurting but this comparison buisness seems more like a mischief by some jerk who does not have any other valid ways of running down our practice pattern. Infact, this is something only being heard in this age, previously even in films, hindus ever talked about KABAH as something we muslims worship.

9)Finally last but not the least, ALLAH ordered PROPHET IBRAHIM TO BUILD KABAH AND THEN ORDERED ALL MUSLIMS TO FACE IT WHILE PRAYING, where is it ordered in HINDU scriptures that you have to make Idols, stand before them and pray.

No offences to the way HINDUS pray , that's their religion, whether ISLAM agrees with it or not, IDOL worship has nothing in common with KABAH faced by muslims while praying. I Don't understand this , why are hindus behaving insecure with this topic, accepting the fact will not make them muslims?

Salaam Alaykum, The Kaaba now in Mecca had to be moved in the history of Islam. Mecca was originally built by Abraham and Ismael...During the time of the Prophet Muhammad's PBUH life...his own tribe the Quraish ruled the area.
Idol worship was common in Mecca because in later years it was a common place of trade and commerce. When the Prophet Muhammad PBUH revealed that this was blasphemy to AllahSWT..his own tribe did not want this place of trade and commerce to be considered holy...and the fledging Muslim's and Prophet Muhammad PBUH had to seek refugee in Medina. With the help of Allah SWT and the wisdom and guidance of the Prophet PBUH battles were won and many lives lost but the
prophet's own tribe turned enemies were conquered...and the holy site of Mecca prevails today with many faithful worshipers making the pilgrimage every Hajj. The Islamic community prays salat in coordinated unison around the world
to pay respects to Allah SWT..not Muhammad PBUH or to Mecca. It the holiest site in Islam and Allah SWT placed a great significance on this place to worship..comparing it to idol worship is like stating the Vatican and worshiping there
is idol worship to a Catholic. How silly. Mecca is a place not an idol and in our texts was designated by Allah SWT as such
a place to prostrate in unison to Allah SWT and worship and praise his all creation.
Wasalaam

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh I have the same experience when I discussed about Islam religion and Hindhu religion with my freind a hindus.Well I know that all hindus believe in so many gods and they made statues for them.He said that statue only be used as the media for concentration but in fact they worship it as god.
.Concentration in praying do not need a media..Prayiing to Allah is a direct communication of a muslim to the greatest creator. We muslims do not need a media of statue.Besides that he said that hindus believe in sang hyang widhi wesa who is similar wit Allah the only one God of muslims. My friend died last year and he was burnt as brahma hindus.I think their gods or idols can be interpreted as making ally to sang hyiang widhi wesa.Making ally to the ponly one God is a very great sin.We pray to Allah by lead ou direction to Kabba do not mean that we worship to idols. There are no idols and statues in the Kabaa.Kabaa is the center of this earth. We make the direction in our praying to kabaan is only the symbol of unity and similarity or egality. of all muslims in front of Allah.Kabaan in the center of mesjiddil ***** and other mosques around the world are the sacred places for praying as the house of God.God is everywhere and omnipresent.God is near everyone's throat. If we get near God will get nearer.to us..Thanks dear Wassalamualaikum w wb.

First of all Hindus have never preached conversion. The recent attempts by some to convert Muslims to Hindus is the reaction of Muslim agenda to convert the whole world to Islam.
But leaving all that aside, do u think that God is concerned with technicalities only?
The most imp aspect is to live by love , mercy compassion etc. The Muslim mind set is "you must admit that Islam is the most Loving religion or else we will kill you"

yours is not a question but self righteous brat.

you are trying to explain why islam is only true pointing things in hinduism.
Hinduism believes that god appears as you believe him to be. So, hindus can worship as they wish to. If you think its not way to worship god, its your problem.

and you claiming of critical thinking, while believing that mohammed seen angel, how can you say that. If that is true, then all hindu mythologies are true, dont you see, the arguement ends there. and by the way, we take mythlogies as stories and not for real.

Assalamualaikum!
Yeah, it is very interesting question. You are right, Hindus feel insecure about this topic.

(To Sunflower).........People like you love to point your finger about other religions without knowing anything about it. We Muslims don't worships KABBAH, it is only meant for direction purpose. It is even allowed to pray inside Kabbah, previously Azan was given while standing on Kabbah.....so you see we don't worship Kabbah, it is just a building for Us meant for direction. And surely Allah has no gender............you are wrong, Allah is not Male, because he has no gender, give me one verse in which Allah said that He is Male!.....

May Allah show them right path.

i am easy to understand, thats because i dont expect everyone to understand me and i try to be as compromising as much as i can. i'd rather be accepted than understood, in that way, i wont encourage anyone to understand me, if they accept the person that i am, i think everything will follow.

IDOLS --- are they GOD?
NO BECAUSE
1) It cannot move from sun to shade , or from rain to shade, it depends on us to construct its shelter.
2) If the temple is closed for 4-5 months it is dependent on us to clean it up
3) If its hands or legs get broken , it is we who repair them.
4) Every year it is we who have to paint it

We observe that for everything the idol cannot benefit itself
it is dependent on us so how can we depend on a thing which cannot even befefit itself.

The common answer people give while worshipping idols is that it helps us to concentrate.

BUT

IDOLS --- Do they represent GOD?
Let us analysis

What is the property of God. When a person walks into a temple and asks god for anything , He asks in his heart not loudly, nor by writing slips.

Property A) God can read our hearts

When a person asks the idol to cure his father in the ICU he does not give information like fathers name, hospital name ward no. , road no. , bed no., disease, blood reports, ECG , cardiogram .......
Nothing is given to the IDOL.

Property B) God knows everything and is capable of doing everything.

Now take the case of Lord Shiva and Ganapati
There are lakhs and lakhs of temples all over the world and lakhs and lakhs of devotees stand front of these idols they recognise everybody and their relatives also whom these devotees are asking for.

But surprisingly in the mythology Lord Shiva and Lord Ganapati are alive front of each other and they fail to recognise each other.

So the properties that a common person attributes to God is not shown by their story.

IF IN ANY MYTHOLOGY , YOU FIND THE ABOVE TWO PROPERTIES OF GOD. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ME BECAUSE I DID NOT FIND IT ANYWHERE IN SEARCH OF TRUTH.

What do other scriptures tell about IDOL worship.

Quran Chapter 22 Al-Hajj
73
O mankind! Here is an example for your understanding, so listen to it carefully. Those deities whom you call besides Allah, cannot create a single fly, even if they all combined their forces, rather, if a fly snatches away anything from them they cannot even get it back; how feebleminded are the suppliants and how powerless are those whom they supplicate!

Bible Psalms 115
2Why should the nations say,“Where is their God, now?”  3But our God is in the heavens. He does whatever he pleases.  4Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.  5They have mouths, but they don’t speak. They have eyes, but they don’t see.  6They have ears, but they don’t hear. They have noses, but they don’t smell.  7They have hands, but they don’t feel. They have feet, but they don’t walk, neither do they speak through their throat.  8Those who make them will be like them;yes, everyone who trusts in them.

Please be logical in your decision on whom to worship.
Are we supposed to worship a particular GOD because we are born in that religion.........THINK ,,,, everybody has brains to think.

Dear Sunflower,
Sorry to offend you sister, but it is the truth, idol worship is forbiden by the lord of the world. The creator of the Universe.
Read the Quran & recognise GOD.

The muslims do not worship the KABA.

QURAN Sura 2
144
O Muhammad, many a time We noticed you turning your face towards heaven; now We will make you turn towards a Qiblah
that will please you. Turn your face during Salah towards the Sacred Mosque (Ka'bah); wherever you are turn your face in
that direction. The people of the Book know this to be the truth from their Rabb. Allah is not unaware of what they do.

149
From whatever place you come forth, turn your face during Salah towards the Sacred Mosque; this is in fact a commandment from your Rabb. Allah is not unaware of what you do.

150
Again, whatever place you come forth, turn your face during Salah towards the Sacred Mosque; and wherever you are, face towards it, so that people will not have any argument against you, except those among them who are wrongdoers. Do not fear them; fear Me, so that I may perfect My favors to you and that you may be rightly guided,

Neither do the Muslims worship the mosque.
It is a place of worship, that is kept clean.(Not more than that.)

Now every religion specifies all the rules regarding living in this world.

Can you quote the rules regarding widow marriage. In Hinduism there is no such option available for widows.
Just about 60 -70 years ago widows were burnt along with their husbands alive along with drumbeats so that their screams do not reach out. They were pushed into the pyre using long sticks........
DO YOU THINK THAT THIS IS A JUST RELIGION.
(This practice still continues more in the northern india till today . The place where the woman is burnt a temple is made and she is worshipped like a godess ...... CAN YOU GIVE A LOGIC TO THIS. )

compare it to the ISLAM.

1400 years ago.

Giving permision for widow to remarry.

IS IT NOT JUST.
