Yes I can't have children myself and I would like to give a child a happy home if possible. I think I'd be more inclined to adopt an older child however. As babies are often adopted

I wasn't sure if I would or not until my aunt/uncle adopted a few years ago. She is the sweetest little girl EVER, she is only my cousin but I can't imagine loving her anymore then my own kid, she is so funny and cute and if weren't for people like my aunt and uncle, willing to adopt, she would have never known a normal/loving/happy home, and she deserves it!!
I wouldn't hesistate for a minute to adopt - because i've seen the love between adoptive parents and their adopted children - there is no difference than if it was your own flesh and blood once you hold them in your arms!

Only as a last resort if i didn't have the chance to have my own children.
It's not that i'm against it, but in my experience as a nurse, i have seen countless cases of older people that when they are sick, very few cases their adopted children come to see them. Most of them move out of town and almost never see their parents as often.
On the other hand, natural children tend to be closer to their parents in case of need i don't know why, but that's what i see everyday.
Anybody can have their own opinion and it's true, sometimes even natural children tend to neglect their parents too. It all depends on what there is in their hearts.

In 1985 my husband and I adopted a 7 year old Barnados boy with multiple disabilities. We guided him through childhood and adolescence and prepared him for moving into residential care in the community in 2004. There were some difficult times but it was very rewarding.
