There is some truth to this wives tale. Some studies have shown that if your body is cold, your immune system is weaker and you are more susceptible to illness like a cold (you still would have to have contact with the cold virus.) However, if you shower in the morning, and dry yourself off well and blow dry your hair, this should not be a problem.

My mom said the same thing when I was a kid, although you should wait at least 30 minutes before going on cold days as your pores are open and exposed. I think there is some truth to some ol wives tales as they put it. Have a good holiday.

old wives tale. you can not get a cold or flu simply because you are cold, you need to have some kind of bacteria or virus to make you sick. If you are already sick though it isn't a good idea to go out while you have wet hair. It just happens that flu/cold season is the same time that weather starts getting colder.

An old wives tale.
But...
After a hot shower you should rinse in cold water to close your pores and you should always dry your body and your hair completely before heading outdoors in the winter.
