They are not "begging bowls." They are offering plates.
The money lenders were trading, buying and selling, etc.
Do you know what the money from offering plates is used for? Churches are buildings. They must be cleaned, heated, cooled, etc.
The grounds must be kept up. Bulidings require upkeep. You know that if you own your home.
There are supplies to be bought for the restrooms, the church kitchen, etc. The church bulletins have to be printed on paper.
The pastor's salary has to be paid.
The money also goes to mercy ministries and to help homeless people who come by with needs for food, etc.

Are you thinking of the time that Jesus kicked over the tables of the money changers ? They were not lenders .
Roman coins had a portrait of the Emperor on them . That was forbidden in a Jewish temple , so Roman coins had to be exchanged for Jewish ones before entering .

I think begging is not compulsion unconditional and with lending there might be some conditions.

It's inaccurate and insulting (to beggars) to call it "begging".
It's backed up by the threat of eternal torture, so it's extortion.
