If your cooking the bird without a cooking bag, baste the turkey every 30 minutes with the broth on the bottom of the pan. Cover with a foil "tent" to avoid burning the skin/drying it out.

It is WHEN it is cooking. Pour some onto the turkey, every 25 minutes or so.

It will make it's own broth in the bag.

* You braise it with it's own broth when
it's cooked by roasting.
